I hope they recorded his lectures. There is so much music history being lost or distorted. Hearing from the people who were actually there and participating makes it much more visceral. Unfortunately many are not around any more and many are not going to be around in the next decade. THe Musicians Hall of Fame in Nashville does a great job of interviewing musicians going way back to the 50's and on. It's great listening to them. THe manager's, producers etc. around them at the time add insight. Seeing how music went from an individual creative statement or expression to the huge corporate machine it became is well worth studying. From the coffee houses to the board rooms!!!!!

OMG! He remembers details from 50 years ago! He’s incredibly smart and a good speaker. I love hearing his telling of the behind the scenes of his wild ride of being the manager of the Stones for their first four years. Amazing! I hope he writes his autobiography just like Keith did. If Keith can do it, he sure can. I’m glad he’s still alive to tell this history. 🎸👏🏻😎

He's done it already! Look in your favorite online bookshop. 2 volumes and an addendum, all brilliant and excellent reads.

So in summary let's thank Lennon and McCartney for writing The Stones first hit.

Not much of a hit. Their previous song (a Chuck Berry cover) went to #21 in the UK charts, while “I Wanna Be Your Man” went to #12. Their cover of “Not Fade Away” which went up to #3 in the charts was their first hit. Which makes sense since “Not Fade Away” is a great song and “I Wanna Be Your Man” is very meh.

Modern music is nonsense. It doesn't mean anything except making money. Look at the Rolling Stones now.
