It is, I totally agree. But the Slash chassis has essentially been the same since its inception. I do think the newer chassis design will prove to be slightly more robust and having the big bore shocks doesn’t hurt either.

Also I think they're being a little bit sneaky and rotten due to the fact that it's only 4s. You know they're gonna come out with a 6s version in a couple months because they don't want to have an older platform emax beating there new so called revamped mini xmaxx. Also the fact that they left horizon hobby and wanted to go on there own to compete with Arma is hilarious. I own a few Traxxas vehicles like the new revo 2.0 and my Xmaxx 8s which I love but Arrma is gonna hands down kill them. They come ready with every option that should be built tough enough to stand mutilation like any hobby grade rc should unlike traxxas you have to upgrade this and that before it's worthy of bashing. Before you know it your into in for another 100 or more dollars. With the exception of the xmaxx of course...lol Arrma just does it right from the get go and all there rigs look badass.

Cumulatively, arrma has been the most abused, and is still by far one of the most durable of all the brands I've had, at least as far as bashers are concerned. Learned that with my XXXNT. Have both the 8.3E and the 6.1DL, don't race, just bash, any part I need, available online right now, any major part I need, in stock at my LHS.

Steel drive shafts are a must have I literally have to replace a drive shaft in my traxxas slash and summit everytime I take it out. Traxxas probably makes these cars for a least half the price there selling them for they can do better then that, there making enough money already

Hi Daniel - I agree with the poster below that $550 is fair based on design and fabrication, but I also agree with you that it's still a lot of money, especially for the more budget-conscious people in our hobbie. It's definitely right in the range for stiff competition from Arrma. I often like Arrma products better than Traxxas. I'm sure that Traxxas will sell a boat-load of them, though.

Snap and the PINS enlarge plastic with all the torque and breaking after 4-5 runs. It's a money PIT...yes, yes part supports to ...blah...blah blah to nickle and dime you. There's metal CVD on my brushless Tmaxx for reasons..but it's another $125 of aftermarket parts...There's also Beefy HARD metal dog bones/CVD on all my 1/8s toys or BUGGIES for reasons...which is liter than that MT..with the same sort of power 4076 2250 KV 4S 50C..it'll lay down some serious torque..traction roll or do back flip from a stand still. Even then..the METAL cups needs to be replace every so often...metal is harder than plastic..no matter how you spin it.

Getting back into RC after many years. Was leaning towards an Xmaxx but was concerned about the size and wondering if I wanted something that huge. Now that the maxx is out....I might go this route. I'd love to hear from all you as to which one I should get???

You can get a comparable Arrma for $400. Durability has long been a staple in Arrma products and at the price point you could get a battery and still be under the starting price of the maxx. The only knock I've heard on Arrma is parts availability but I've owned many over the past couple years and have never had an issue. It's all preference though at the end of the day, whatever floats your boat.

Something not mentioned about the body that I noticed. The piece of plastic over the bed of the truck. On an Outcast for example the body wears through on that part of the body. Nice to see Traxxas learn from others mistakes.

Is the chassis modular like the x-maxx where you can take the entire front/rear off and replace in case you break a tower? Are the hinge pins capture with an aluminum brace on the top and bottom like the revo? Will like to see how it does on 3S for those of us that have the stampede setup for 3S. I don't have a single 4S pack, but I have 10 or 12 3S packs. Is the battery tray long for the longer/flat packs or is it shorter for the hard case packs like the stampede 4x4 locks you in on?

I had been looking forward to a review on this new truck. Thank you for doing so. But I could hardly hear you half of the time due to you dropping your voice so low at the end of your sentences and I feel like I missed out on a huge amount of information. You start out good, loud even. Then drop to a mumble. I honestly appreciate your efforts, your time and the quality of the video being so well done. Depends what you want to do, if you're just bashing I'd say this would be the better option, my xmaxx almost never breaks and I've beat the life out of it. My wife's (excuse to buy it) new Revo breaks a shock or pushrod end EVERYTIME I take it out, a small cart wheel and it comes limping back to me. Supposedly you can get limiting straps for them and that keeps it from ripping the ends out, I've yet to test that out yet though.

Yup you're right. Traxxas has done a damn good job with their crawlers and UDR, they look good. Their rtr bashers have awful paint schemes, like they were designed for pre schoolers. Don't get me wrong rcs are toys but they ain't cheap, less busy paint schemes would be nice.

You should look up the Emaxx wheelbase and length. This does 55mph out of the box. I've seen it on 6s. It's too fast.

there's only 4S 4076 2250KV 50C on my T-maxx . I chucked the Traxxas retarded transmission ( plastic) and just mounted a 1/8 center diff...with METAL Center drives and METAL CVD. My motor is Mounted LOW close to the chassis. :-P I chuck the aluminum shock towers, too. It has the proper of METAL parts in the proper places, now :-P 6s??...I got tired to rebuilding T maxx differentals in my sleep from the old days.lmao Me too...I'll still keep my Brushless T maxx

@@atb002 I don't need to read up on anything, man, but I sure found the Traxxas fanboy. I'm not even an Arrma fanboy, I just enjoy quality RC's, and from companies that aren't total scumbags. Traxxas hasn't been innovative in a very long time. They've used the same old chassis for god knows how long. How about instead of sueing Arrma and whoever is a threat to them, how about they could have just released this new Maxx instead to actually COMPETE in a respectable way. As customers and enthusiasts of the hobby, none of us win with the kind of tactics Traxxas uses. Go ahead and tell me I'm wrong about that.
