In 4th grade, 1970 for me, they taught us this and we did the excate hand movements. It was years later I found out it was real. And kinda creepy I still knew them. 😂😂

I saw them as a young 6 year old in Youngstown, Ohio. Heard the song and it stuck with me. A gentleman then sang "What coloir is God's Skin" and that too stuck in my mind. Fast forward 14 years and I was living in Tucson, Arizona, the home base of UWP. Went to a show, interviewed, was accepted, and that started the best two years of my young life. I traveled and danced as a cast member, throughout the US and Scandinavian Countries, then a dance captain the second year in the US and back to Scandanavia. We also performed in the 1986 Super Bowl. The friendships formed then are ingrained in my mind and life - and our friendships still persist. Blessing to Blanton Belk, the founder of Up With People and his desire to have such an inspirational program that changed 25,000 plus lives forever!!

These guys played my high school assembly in 1970 and afterward I walked right out, skipping school for the first time in my life. Barf.

Sing-Out Virginia Beach then the Sing-Out group in San Diego named, Let's Go San Diego. Some of the best times ever! As a teen who lost her daddy in 1967 to suicide the Sing-Out in Virginia Beach helped in some very dark times.

0:33 - If you're going to be anybody, be that black man dancing on the left. There he is, dancing his heart out... until he faces peer pressure at 1:01 and conforms.

I remember these people. Scary, truly scary!

If you remember these people be happy! If you should and don't, you may be old, jaded and but hopefully don't have dementia. There is nothing wrong with the joy of youth in a setting like this. Now, I am old, not too jaded, remembered all the words, the dance moves and it was fun for the moment. Then I lived for the moment, now I live for the Lord!
