@@marinitsag Nope many religions got along finely until sume ruler came in and started favouring some over others which caused disingenuouity and hatred and seperation between others. (for materlistic selfish reason). Take for example Sunnis and shias in Iraq. Before saddam u couldn't even tell the difference between the two cuz they just got along finely. Comes saddam, starts favouring the Sunnis which as human nature's goes cussed the shias to dislike the Sunnis. Then when saddam left. It was like let's get revenge for the shias. And then the secterian events occurred in 2006 where u were getting killed for being the opposite sect of the same religion, bearing in mind that 40 years ago they would pray in the same mosque. Now people are getting more educated and more civilised and after ISIS came in both Sunnis and shias fought against them and defended their country. And then they realised how similar they r again and now u rarely see in secterian tension anymore in Iraq 😊

this was really cute to watch. He was kinda right when he said you never see muslims/middle-eastern ppl laughing in the movies. I mean obviously, I know intellectually that muslims do laugh and that they're like any other people, but I've never actually seen a video with muslims laughing and joking about their culture.... it's nice. Wish all the islamophobes could see this.

caramel coffee Bullshit. I constantly laugh at jokes about our/my culture,or even myself. If you are unable to laugh at yourself, or your own culture, there is something seriously wrong with you and your culture. If it is SO fragile as to be beyond criticism or ridicule, I think you should give it some though as to why it seems that is. Could it be that you are so worried about scrutinising what or why you believe what you do, and may find something you don't like, or that some beliefs are not warranted after all.
@888pil9 жыл бұрын
rationalmartian what are you talking about? Literally what was the point of that rant? My husband and are Christian Missionaries and we were travelling through the middle east. My husband's heart stopped on the plane. Resuscitation. Then, 20 minutes later... Cardiac arrest again... resuscitation. A doctor on the plane says, you better get this guy to a hospital or he's going to die. Qatar Airlines lands us in Oman in 20 minutes. I think my heart may have stopped when they took our passports. I was completely terrified. However, we were treated with incredible kindness and hospitality. Qatar Airlines would not allow us to pay for anything or use our travel insurance. Everyone we met was so gracious and kind. I wish Americans could see this and understand that the middle east is not all about terrorism. Some of the warmest most welcoming people helped us, through one of the most difficult events of our lives. Total strangers treated us like family. We were in Oman for 3 days and Qatar airlines assured our safety and comfort every step of the way. The hospital staff were kind and compassionate. The hotel staff were incredible. Yes. People in the middle east laugh and offer you food and beverages and absolute welcoming and hospitality. Some day, we would like to visit again under different circumstances.

May i suggest you visit as not Christian Missionaries. All religions are a cruse on humanity, i do not need superstitions and invisible and imaginary beings or ancient text to tell me how to behave. Why do you ? And why do you have the need to spread superstitions to others ? Thank you ..

@@tariq_sharif I agree with you Tariq and many more of us are coming to this conclusion . It is going to be a long time before all people realize that peace and love come from our hearts and not from the voices of the invisible . The attempt to enforce superstitions has been the cause of so much sorrow and bloodshed . I wonder how this Christian Missionary explains that the doctrine that is right is the one popular where they were born . In this age of enlightenment it becomes obvious we are all in this together . Forgive those that don't understand your message. So greetings from Canada . Peace ...

The thing is, words which some consider vulgar and profane, others use regularly in daily life, so they no longer have any impact to those folks. So it's actually the material, not the words, which is funny. We have to get over both the idea that some words are bad and others good, as well as getting over nudity or even underwear. It's become ridiculous. A girl will wear a string bikini on the boardwalk, casually walking down the ocean side, yet, become freaked out if her skirt rips at work and you can see her slip.

Middle East is a unique place. Im so sad and sorry for what is happening right now with the I.S. and fanatic Muslims. I know that typical Muslims are disgusted by the I.S. and they re very sad that their religion is misunderstood and receives a lot of hate because of these stupid fanatics. I ve been to Jordan btw, its the only country in Middle East that avoids wars and i ve got to say that i want to come back again. I also spent my Easter holidays there and went to an Orthodox church for the Resurrection and people have ansolutely no problem with Christians! I mean, all the hate comes mainly from America (which i condemn for *many* crimes that it has done in the Middle East and other places). All these stereotypes that *destroy* this beautiful world which deserves so much more attention... So sad and unfair for all these people... I hope that the situation will get better in the future 😥

In regards to your comment about Jordan, actually, currently, Jordan has forces in Libya fighting with British forces. www.theguardian.com/world/2016/mar/25/sas-deployed-libya-start-year-leaked-memo-king-abdullah Oman, that is the Middle Eastern country that absolutely fascinates that heck out of me. Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said is totally on my I would love to meet one-day list (fantasy list of corse! lol but one can wish!). He pulled Oman out of the GCC due to the actions GCC is taking in Yemen, and historically Oman has been the go to for a mediator between Iran and Saudi Arabia, that alone is impressive. Even more impressive, in my personal opinion, is that the Sultan has been in power the longest out of the other Middle Eastern countries leaders, in fact, Oman has the seventh-longest current reigning monarch in the world. One might then assume that during the Arab Uprisings when people took to the streets to protest, that the people of Oman would call for him to step down. They did not ask for a new leader of Oman, they were even saying they did NOT want him to step down, the grievances were with local government officials (if I remember correctly). Sadly the Sultan is said to have cancer right now and has no successor so it will be interesting to see what happens with Oman. I am sure he has a plan in place as he seems to be a very good leader, but that is just my personal view I have never meet the man so I guess I don't really know, but the interviews I have seen of him, I think, are fascinating. The Sultan is just an amazing political leader and you can tell he loves Oman. Totally a place on my must travel to one day list, and so is Jordan. And I do agree that there are miss-portrayals of the Middle East, largely in the US, but unfortunately in other countries as well. www.aljazeera.com/news/2016/09/syria-war-russian-air-raids-kill-9400-year-160930082703222.html

I know just what you mean. They have a kind of gracious "simplicity" (i.e. they are not angry, resentful, and knowing and cyncal) that I adore. And they are well-informed, polite, hospitable and gracious, friendly and talkative. I'm glad I am back living in Canada but I am always happy to chat to people from the ME here in Canada because I know they will be approachable.
