Awesome. You asked very good questions, that most of us are interested in. Out of pure coincidence, I received a email from bicycle motor works, that they are now offering Ampace batteries. Thank you for making this video.

Thats the biggest problem with E vehicles is battery weight, size,cost ,longevity ,charge time...all the E vehicles are super tech but the battery power source is ancient tech

Excellent video. You asked very good questions throughout the interview, and you can clearly see the CTO is both knowledgeable and informative. Looking forward to what advancements are coming and integrated in 2025 and beyond.

I wanna see this in kick scooters lol looks reasonable sized to even fit two inside a deck for even more range and controllers in the stem

I like the company direction and culture. So far Surron, NIU, Honda and many other manufacturer that used their batteries turn to be safe and reliable. The new line up looks to be better and more efficient.

Haha i like the face of Dr Ampace when you are trying to explain you want a lighter, better battery…. He was just like No shit what do think the industry has spent billions trying to figure out and proceeds to lecture you on safety.

There is a blanket that firefighters here use to suffocate the batteries that catch fire.

Are you sure of that 30kg mass for the largest pack, a 4.4kWh battery? That's over 66lb which seems very heavy compared to a Zero 3.6kWh brick which weighs more like 40lb (20kg). I can't find any specifications in the press releases, so right now your video appears to have the only numeric claims online (ofc I'm probably missing a Chinese language PDF or something). Anyway, thanks for the coverage!

Try to speak about Watt Hours (Wh), not Amp Hours which are misleading in many ways. You have to know of which voltage they are calculated at, battery discharge curve (how the voltage drops) etc.. for it to mean anything..
@ElectricVehicleSpace4 күн бұрын
I think you are the only one confused here.
@jarkkoaitti2874 күн бұрын
@@ElectricVehicleSpace Sorry if was a bit blunt, kind of a straight talker and my finnish no bs expression might sound hostile. If you google about it, most sites gets it wrong when thinking you can calculate Ah to Wh simply by Ah*Voltage=Wh when batteries are involved. It is a common misconseption and repeated everywhere, maybe you believe a known respected and talented engineer dave, he has a video "EEVblog #140 - Battery Capacity Tutorial". You should really watch that and perhaps also more general "EEVblog #1009 - Voltage vs Power vs Energy"..

@@ElectricVehicleSpace and also recent "EEVblog 1648 - USB Battery Bank mAh Capacity ratings are a LIE!" has a lot of good points
@BrianTRice773 күн бұрын
I agree that because Wh or kWh measures energy, whereas Ah measures total electron flow potential, it more directly helps identify the range of an EV especially a bicycle or scooter. But I'm not going to chastise anyone for it, just encourage talking in Wh when talking about range.

Sadly it will be too high to stack two 35205 cells vertically in Talaria and other emotos and also too long to stack them horizontally. Doesn't work either way. You must allow around 22 cm for the battery's width to utilize this format (model 7445 with 30 cells). However two 7460 batteries yell 8.88 kWh. Enough for intercity travel with removable batteries! Unheard of until now.
@ElectricVehicleSpace8 күн бұрын
They have various sizes. Not necessarily designed for Talaria.
@maciejpsyk8 күн бұрын
@@ElectricVehicleSpace That's my point. Emotos like Talaria are in the 10% of the market not covered by them, as he said. One 7460 battery would be perfect for Surron Ultra Bee and two for RGNT through.
@ElectricVehicleSpace7 күн бұрын
@@maciejpsyk that would require a full size frame that surron or talaria cannot accommodate. They made a smaller size for these bikes.
@maciejpsyk7 күн бұрын
@@ElectricVehicleSpace Smaller than 35x205 mm cylindrical cells? I saw only that format in your video. Plus the rectangular cell that wasn't covered in your conversation.
@MotoAlias4 күн бұрын
He did say they can make there pouch cells to any size needed. And talarias and surrons already use pouch cells if you buy from ewatt or ebmx. So maybe this would be a better option I agree tho they should capitalize on the smaller emoto market

Need this for my EUC!🥹
@ElectricVehicleSpace8 күн бұрын
They make bigger packs. Not sure it will fit on a EUC and it will be too hard to integrate unless it is the smaller 28Ah pack. They are focusing now on 2 and 3 wheel vehicles.
