Awesome list! Love your previews, and Happy our game was included ^_^ thank you for previewing it (TWOW) We've been working for 3 years since the demo now currently live, and we have upgraded everything about the game. Graphics, Gameplay system rewritten from scratch, all new story and many many new gameplay elements, including both Turn-Based and Real-time with pause combats you can switch mid-battle. The new demo will be available in the coming months, but new screenshots and gifs are already on Steam with trailer in the works. We hope you'll enjoy how it turned out! The game will be about 30% combat, 30% story, 40% exploration activities and fort management. With emphasis on really hand crafted combat encounters with custom AI modifications and even different combat/story outcomes depending on how the battle unfolds. Same is true with exploration and fort management. We really tried to make the game so narrative, gameplay, and, exploration are very seamlessly integrated with each other.

I was an old-school first edition AD&D player. I have been enjoying the PF2E rules implementation in Dawnsbury Days. Given this and my enjoyment of the NWN modules produced by Ossian Studios, I backed Pathfinder: The Dragon's Demand on day one. The more I see of it, the more eager I am to play it right now! I had hoped we would already be reaching stretch goals. Thanks for the video and The Dragon's Demand coverage.
@chrisbaldwin85702 ай бұрын
If you are interested in Pathfinder 2e, Dawnsbury Days on Steam has a campaign for levels 1-4 and an expansion coming that adds 5-8 for like 5 bucks on Steam. It doesn't have absolutely everything, but it has enough to be impressive and comes with documentation for those who want to create custom campaigns, classes, items, or enemies.

New Arc Line and Dragon's Demand (which I helped back) are definitely both my top two. I liked the Guild Saga demo but I might wait a bit before picking up the final release. I liked the combat but something about the art style and writing didn't wow me. But to be fair I only played for like 2 hours. I don't know if this counts as a cRPG, but a game that I saw: Pathbreakers: Roaming Blades is a fantasy mercenary manager like Wartales or Battle Brothers but sprite based and more magical and less gritty. It just got announced so there's almost no real info on it, but I love Wartales and The Iron Oath so that's on my wishlist down the road.

Geneforge 3 is likely getting its remaster as well(same dev guy as Avernum 4). That one's going to be fun, as it's the first of the 'war arc' games. That war the first 2 games said would happen if the factions on the island got off it, or the ones in the valley survived? Yeah, one of the valley ones survived. The game opens with a shaper school(like the one your guy was headed to in 1, or had just finished in 2) comes under attack, and your characters survives, only to find out that the attack, involving a 'spawner' that can make creations at random to send out, was part of a wider attack, not only on the Ashen Islands you're on, but on the whole of the Shaper's Empire. Now, you must venture forth, and do battle with the forces of the Rebellion...or perhaps join it, if you're so inclined. After all, there is power to be had on both sides, and Shapers are an ambitious lot. Maybe you're even motivated by 'morality' of all foolish things, wanting to give the creations 'freedom from oppression', because you feel their makers are wrong? It is the only game in the series to feature party members, of a sort, as Alwin, one of your fellow classmates, and Greta, a dropout from the same, can join you. The first is loyal to the Shaper cause, and is a Guardian, a heavy melee fighter, able to grow stronger than any shaped thing you can make in the game in melee combat. Greta, the second, was training to be an agent, and while she failed at the loyalty portion of her training, your creations could never match her power of magic...mind, that loyalty, seeing the cruelties of the Shapers, she sees little point in serving such vile masters. It's a good story, and a fine beginning to the arc, though it's also the only game in the set without a definitive ending. Either side you join with basically points out this is just the beginning of the war, one that will continue for years past this point, no matter which one you wind up with. Oddly too, while none of the games have a 'definitive' ending, this one(and the next) has one that HAS to happen to really lead into the next game...more interestingly, the one most likely to do so? The game over screen.

Regarding Banquet for Fools, my understanding is the devs have apparently made two more games prior to this under a different studio name. Mechajammer, and Serpent in the Staglands. And Banquet for Fools is apparently tied to Serpent in the Staglands, as there is an option to import your Staglands save and have it impact some things within the world.
