Love this!! You’re so inspiring and what a great teacher 🥰 Thank you so much for showing how to make pattern and size it. It will be perfect for me to wear in the hot Texas heat!

Thanks for sharing!! I saw a comment on a different video that said if you fuse a medium weight interfacing to the back of your pattern it will hold up better and still be foldable!!

That is very interesting. Thank you for sharing.

I was thrilled to watch another video, I really like the longer videos that you make as for me its a real treat. I reward myself after getting some chores done by watching a utube video! especially yours! and I almost threw out all my brown paper bags today...but stopped myself cuz I thought " these could be used to make a pattern" perfect timing!

I'm so glad you liked the longer video. I was a bit worried it was too long! I also use my brown paper to make the little envelopes I put tea bags in for my shop. They are very handy and the absolute excess or torn ones I use to start my fires in my little wood stove during the winter. Thank you so much for watching my videos!

Sherry, sheets come in so many lovely patterns and colors, don't they? My Goodwill still sells them for only 99 cents. I only like the all cotton or poly cotton sheets, though. Tons of usable fabric and many times they have a gorgeous border to boot. I ALWAYS enjoy your amazing tutorials. I am not a seamstress but do piddle around with sewing. I have never understood how to put in elastic. Thanks to this tutorial, mystery solved. 🤗 Recycling at its best. ❤

Donna, I am like you, I like the cotton ones the best too! Vintage sheets are my favorites of course. I'm so glad you enjoy the videos I make.

I needed an easy way to make some nightgowns, so i love this! I think i would rather have a sleeveless yoke at the top instead of straps because straps slide off my shoulder on my left side. I think the elastic would irritate me too. But i love combining mixed fabrics and reusing old clothing.

I'm so glad you like reusing clothing and I think your idea is wonderful.

We do a lot of the same things. I save the brown packaging paper for pattern making and use gallon baggies to store all my patterns. I store them in fabric cubes by types of patterns. They also fit nicely in bankers boxes.

This was really helpful! If 3 videos a week is too much you can chat and pick from the bin 1 week. Then the following week reveal what you did! And of course the weekly tutorials. I’d like to see this done with the sleeves/top like you said we can do.

I am experimenting to see what is doable and I really appreciate your genuine concern. I think that is a great idea for a video too so maybe it will be coming up soon. Thank you so much!

❤Great tutorial ShErRy, great instructions that are easy to follow. Could you show us the top measurements on your pattern?
@SherryJonesDesigns9 ай бұрын
It is in the video if you need to see it again. It is 7 inches but yours may be different if you are a different size. If you fold the pattern down the size becomes larger so it is important to remember that when making different lengths of garments. I usually just add or subtract for sizes or the style I'm going after from the angled side by cutting it wider or narrower. Hope that helps!

Just in case it isn't in there...ha ha...usually I space them about 8 inches apart but you can measure something you have that fits you well and use that measurement for a perfect fit

AMAZING as usual I dont know if you use just fabric Sherry I have a ton of sheer fabrics from organza to tulle and I was thiinking of doing alight weight hankerchief top with the points downward kind of uneven hem line do you make this sort of top or dress I would love a tutorial of how you wouldo this ❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you so much! I can’t wait to try this! How can I upsize this pattern for plus size?? Thank you!
@SherryJonesDesigns9 ай бұрын
You will just cut it as wide as you need. So if you measured the area above your bust line and lets say it was 40 inches, then you would make sure the unfolded pattern would be more than that depending on how much ruffle you want to see. You may have to make a couple till you get it perfectly the way you like it. I ended up having to cut some of the extra out of mine as at first I made my own too full. I do talk about this in the video so you can always go back to the video and do it piece by piece. Hope that helps!
