These are wicked cool. Maybe leave more of an outer edge and keep the saw handle attached.?
@junkyardfarmgirl3 жыл бұрын
I use the handles to make owl sculptures, so I do not leave them attached.😀

@@junkyardfarmgirl I’d love it! How long have you been plasma cutting? I just started and only have a couple months under my belt. I am amazed by your ability to one hand cut! I have been working with my neighbor in his shop but they leave for the winter so I’m anxiously awaiting spring to get back at it! I have so many ideas.

@@shannonfinnessy533 I’ve been at it for 8 years. I am able to help others skip a lot of the trial and error that I encountered by giving tips on how to cut smoothly. It seems I have a different little technique for each medium, depending on the thickness and how rusty it is. I’m able to make it easier for my followers by showing them the medium with its particular technique. Lately I’ve been cutting script font into sheets of ceiling tin. I’m working on a product for people like you who love plasma cutting and want to advance their skills with the craft.

Great idea. Looks like your enjoying the cut time. I love plasma cutting. Some of those saws are valuable i believe
@junkyardfarmgirl3 жыл бұрын
I get them for a dollar or two each, sell the tree cutouts for $7 each, then turn the wooden handles into owls and sell them for $15. They aren’t valuable until I turn them into something else.

Well some of them older saws are saut after and if you were to polish the blade back and sharpen it a little with a file you'd be surprised. Some of those saws go for 40 to 50 dollars each. But whatever

Oh this is so cool! Thanks for sharing! I just bought a plasma cutter and am looking for ideas. Going to go look for some old saws!🤣🤣👍😃

Turn the wooden handles into little owl sculptures by adding old metal jar lids, little old watch faces and steampunk parts. The horns on the handle look like owl horns!

Just a friendly suggestion, you should really keep a hammer on hand for breaking apart your cut pieces. If you keep using the torch head you will soon find out how expensive they are to replace. Just saying. Nice work!

good job , BUT I'm Not sure why when you cut them you didn't leave the saw handles on them??? instead of 3-7 bucks you could have sold them for 15-30$$$ maybe more. the hand saw trees are very popular and lucrative.... i tried to attach a picture but couldn't.
@junkyardfarmgirl3 жыл бұрын
Actually, they don’t sell at my studio or at shows for more than $4 each. I sell the trees for $7 each, then I turn the wooden handle into an owl and sell for $15. Thanks for the unsolicited advice. You do you babe.

Why don't you incorporate the art work into the blade. Just saying
