Three years after posting and I’m so enjoying this video. I’m now sorting thru fabric so I can start a snippet roll with the idea of practicing my color, fabric, layering and stitching. You provide eye candy, teaching and nice chatting at times. I’m use to watching your journaling videos but this slow stitching has my creative mind getting excited. Thank you…three years late.

Rachel, when you show us the problems you encounter, it can be more educational than a flawlessly executed and editorially perfect video that just makes us think, I could never do that. Please keep on being a real human being instead of a perfect plastic manikin.

Dear Rachel, FWIW, I’m putting my 2 bobs worth in...You are a very generous, caring and giving soul. You always give credit where credit is due and the amount of time that you put into your videos is priceless. Sometimes I think the complainers have no or little idea of the work involved in filming, editing and uploading these videos. And you do it every day. 🙌 I also think that there are loads of tutorials available to pay for. I have done so and I know that you have. This is a way of supporting our artists and crafts people. Paying it forward so to speak. When a person is viewing a video that costs them nothing but their time, I think they should just stop watching if it’s not for them. There are thousands of tutorials available, something for everyone. It’s not good for the creative community to criticise a person who is so generously sharing their skills and knowledge for free! And I think of that Taylor Swift song “haters gonna hate”. Keep on doing what you are doing. You have inspired me to begin the hannemade4thesoul project. I’m doing it now, whilst watching this video. Thank you. Sent with love from Tasmania 💕

OK I'm going to be one of those cackling hens I complained about down below. I am an adult, with my own mind and freedom to watch what I choose. I like these videos -- I used to embroider as a child -- that was 50 years ago -- I'm 63 -- I've forgotten everything, plus I'm a fabric phobe; I love fabric, and you have gorgeous fabrics and have such an eye for placing them together. Please don't worry about "boring" we who watch (the www), I love your stories, but sometimes it's okay to be quiet and sew -- I've got this gorgeous floral cotton upholstery fabric which was $125 a yd, according to the tag -- I got the end of the bolt for $3 at the thrift store, and there are 4 + yds and it's really wide -- it's giving me the stink eye saying: use me as your base, use me as your base, start the project -- I haven't even thought about the hexagon sewing in more than 50 yrs., but we made those all the time as kids, and the yoyos -- it was an introduction to sewing while the mothers/grandmothers talked and sewed and gossiped -- As a small child, I spent bucolic, beautiful, wonderful summers with my grandma at her tobacco farm in the middle of nowhere in central Va. -- days that will never be here again -- she'd take her "yard chair" and her Bible and me in my bathing suit and flip flops and sunglasses and my blow-up ring, and she'd sit in the shade with her feet in the creek while I splashed around -- these are precious memories I'd forgotten until you posted this today -- so quit thinking what we do or do not want and just do what *you* want -- end of my hen cackling -- I love this project !! Don't feel you have to reply -- sew !!! : )

Rachel, your work is beautiful. You inspired me to pull out my DMC thread, embroidery needles and fabric scraps. Please disregard negative comments. Some people can be so unkind. My momma told me if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all. Some people need to heed this saying. No one is forced to watch. If you don’t like what your seeing, move along. I made a quilt 50 years ago out of hexagons. I have hated hexagons ever since. I refuse to make anymore of them! I will substitute another shape. Life is to short to be any more miserable than you need to be. That is my opinion and I am sticking to it! You are doing a great job with this project.

My comment may show that I am the most petty person, but it is what it is -- you have THE best fabrics, and I am sooooooooooo jealous -- this project is coming along beautifully -- I don't have the patience; too busy eating, gaining the covid-15, and now binge watching true crime series on Netflix -- haven't watched the video yet, but the thumbnail is gorgeous -- don't bother commenting back; I know you're busy.

Rachel don't fret the haters. I love spending time with you. I don't understand why people complain. The solution is so easy. Watch other videos. I enjoy the background sounds of LuLu, Stephie and the postman lol. Your human and your stories are entertaining..

Looking gorgeous!! A tip for doing the hexagons is to fold over a side and just slip on a paper clip. That keeps it secure and the fabric doesn’t slip as much as you sew. 😊

I love watching you work your slow stitches. It makes me realise that although I’m working slowly, it applies to everyone else too and there’s no rush to finish anyway. When I think I’ve finished, I leave it for a while, then when I go back to it, I view it with new enthusiasm and can find lots of space to add new things. I really do think mine is almost finished, so I have started to piece a new one together in a different colour way. Can’t wait to get started..
