I haven’t put a video up this week so thought I would pop in to update yo what’s been going on.
Join me for a raw and honest update from the midst of a heat wave! I'm sharing what it's really like living in a van, from the struggles of staying cool to the exhaustion that comes with it. I'm also sharing some fascinating insights from other RVers and experts about the quality of modern recreational vehicles.
From the challenges of navigating tight spaces to the frustration of dealing with poorly made rigs, I'm giving you a behind-the-scenes look at life on the road. And, of course, I'm sharing updates on Joy's health, including her recent echocardiogram and heart monitor results.
I'm also diving into the world of RVing and sharing some eye-opening information about the industry. From the impact of COVID-19 on RV manufacturing to the importance of quality over quantity, I'm covering it all.

I choose Southern California beaches during the summer in my van. 73. Breeze. Beautiful. Don’t buy an RV. Not designed for full time living. Some manufacturers will void the warranty if you admit to living in it full time. Great info

@@jbusley my brother has been living RV life for over 5 yrs 2nd RV 1st was solo now brand new with wife they sold everything. The same goes for van life friends say the higher the price tag the higher the problems. So it holds true for both I believe thats my opinion plus I'm moving down to Mississippi and it won't be moving like a van always. Also its been 70s in Minnesota alot were in upper 80s for a few days then back to 70s

Good points made by Liz and repeated by you. Most of today's RVs are trash. Leaks, power failures, faulty support structures, missing nuts, bolts etc. Kudos to you on your 9/1 move . Best of luck!

Happily Ever Hanks had there 5th wheel in for repair. They put a lot of stress on their unit because they drove the Alaska highway and wear and tear. Never did they say it was because of faulty build.

I love Liz Amazing!! So many of the RVs don't even make it to a second destination and start to fail. The slides, the leveling set up the water leaks...😢 I bought mine just over a year ago and I fixed a bunch of things like screws not placed! Tack the drawer slides but not secured!! The water leaked under my sink both the drain and the supply hoses due to not being tightened! Thankfully they were things I could do..

I purchased a 2024 Solis Pocket and have taken out twice and both times the power steering went out on me. The first time I took it in for this I think they just reset it and the second time I took it in the finally diagnose the EPS failed. So, now I am waiting on a new electric power steering and pinion assembly all of course on back order.

We've been pretty lucky avoiding the really hot weather in MN but not unexpected. Got in a nice 40 mile bike ride with a group of old farts like me. Good luck with your mother, our family went through the same thing with our mother who was in a really nice facility but she didn't want to be there, it was heart breaking. Yes my wife and I watch Liz Amazing and she's doing a great job.

Arizona 111 degrees at 6 p.m. I have a fib myself. Got it in my late forties. Stress and anxiety caused it. My husband is a type one diabetic and needs a new heart. We've been going to the Mayo Clinic for the last year and a half.

Wishing all the best for you and Joy. You are each very interesting women. Hearts of gold and eternal optimism, after being through things that would make most people pessimistic, withdrawn, or bitter. Having a roof over your head in September will at least be a respite, even if the pendulum swings back in the vanlife direction at some future date, whether that is months, years, or a decade away. It is a skill set that will always be there for you, just like the wide array of other skill sets you have. Including doing e-bike videos.... I wouldn't be surprised to see you occasionally do more of them. I think you'll miss doing them! Enjoy the change, especially if you have the place to yourself for a while. You'll know the pendulum has swung to a good place, when you fall asleep in the tub, and only the water getting cold wakes you up. You just might work the drain lever and hot water knob with your toes, to repeat the process. Just don't turn into a prune, while over compensating for a few too many gym showers.

I think it's false to blame COVID ,there may be some percentage that contributed to the bigger problems,and the big problem has been the quality control at the factory and people's knowing but not stepping up to fix the problem. With Sharlene you know what you got and it will need repairs,but she is not new like all the big and small RVs out there which are costing much more than what Sharlene cost . The RVs are sold with pretty pictures showing the off the track locations off the main highway but when it comes to Warranty time ,you the owner is at fault for taking it to places that the manufacturer is now saying you shouldn't. It's a huge topic , people losing money ,so it's a topic that has to be shown thoroughly ,not just a mention . So you can feel better that what you got is just as serving as a $150 grand flash but trash RV

Totally. I’m sure there were manufacturer problems before but since the high demand for RVs since Covid, they wanted to push them out to sell them. Watch Liz amazing and you’ll see what has happened since that time. It’s is eye opening! 💜

@@AdvanturesOver50 I've watched every channel that has highlighted the problems,I'm well versed on every owners issues and how they have been treated by dealers and eventually the manufacturer. Again take pride in Sharlene, she's doing you well ,there for you each night . In all the problems shouldn't have happened,people used to take pride in their work ,I suspect corporate mentality is to blame for many things ,as you are aware many of the original owners of the RV manufacturers have sold out to Big Corporates,way of the world huh ?

It feels struggly 😁 Trying to work and take care of myself but also trying to take care of Joy and her life and getting her in a nice and safe place she loves. I’m sure so many are also going through this. But, there’s always getting to the other side of it all. 😁💙

@@AdvanturesOver50 I would try to spend as much time as you can with her and I would be asking her all kinds of questions about your family. I did this with my mother but I should of done a better job. Once they are gone, things are gone forever. Nothing replaces a loss of a mother. As far as the other things.....I'm not sure anything else is really that important. At the time it can seem like it's overwhelming but family and love are the most important 💕.
