You have a great attitude and I like that you are honest about it. I am 51 and have never had anything done. So many people tell me they have had botox and cosmetic surgery, and tell me what I need done. I wish more people would just accept others the way they are and not look at their imperfections.

Oh my god. No one NEEDS Botox 🥺 I’m all for aging naturally. I’m glad I tried it & the results were great … but completely unnecessary

I am 44, been getting it twice a year since I turned 38. I rarely wear makeup and am a simple gal who doesn’t buy into all the beauty/wellness bs out there. I think it has been really effective in maintaining a natural appearance with limiting the wrinkle formation. It’s a yes for me. It’s awesome that you don’t let others influence you one way or another.

I'm 32, I looked young for my age for a really long time and then due to 2 years in a row of struggling terribly with my mental health, the extended stress, burnout, fatigue etc, I didn't look young for my age anymore. I went through a bit of a identity crisis for multiple reasons during that time and I wanted look healthy and feel healthy again so I did telehealth with a psychologist and had a semi-regular gym routine. That certainly helped. I got engaged during that time also so I also considered my skin. I started using vitamin c as part of an otherwise minimal skincare routine and tried my best to force myself to wear sunscreen any time I left the house. After a few months my skin was looking a lot better and I wanted to be able to just wear a tinted moisturiser or sunscreen so I decided to get vascular laser to zap some broken capillaries on my face so it looked more even. It had an additional benefit of plumping up the areas of skin where I had the spider veins which I certainly didn't complain about! Another thing that made me look dare I say younger was actually getting my unruly blonde eyebrows threaded and tinted for the first time. The slightly higher arch makes my eyebrows look just a little higher above my eyes. Originally I was considering getting botox before my wedding but after sticking diligently to my skincare routine I decided against it. I am glad I didn't get it because I am so expressive and full of joy in my wedding photos and my younger sister who did get botox before the day looks lovely of course but I can tell a difference in the photos, her smile isn't reaching her eyes. Perhaps I would feel differently if she weren't still in her 20s but I feel like it was too soon and she got too much. She's 3 years younger than me. It saddens me that she's still in her 20s and is already freaking out about ageing. I am going to try and stick to good skincare, healthy eating and exercise for the near future as I would prefer to avoid injectibles but I acknowledge that is a effortful way to improve my appearance. I'm not opposed to getting a laser treatment in future to get rid of those pesky spider veins when a bunch of them crop up again.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Mental health is such a huge part of feeling healthy. I would agree that my eyes are very slightly less expressive. I just went and looked at my wedding pics & I’m all smiles & crowsfeet & I love them ❤️❤️❤️

I 100% agree with you on the slippery slope. I think it’s bad for anyone with body issues and insecurities and unfortunately that is a lot of us. The pressure to look young is so heavy now. It’s everywhere you look.

Its nice you can move your face, i know someone 50 who did it in their 20s and still can't more their forehead. This opens up the discussion/fact that it doesn't always do that. Interesting! Thanks for sharing all that you do!

I am saying no to injectables to embrace aging fully and it feels to me as though by “getting work done” I am actively working against that. Totally support others who choose differently…to each their own. 💚

I'm 38 and have been getting Dysport (same as Botox) for several years. I don't get it for cosmetic purposes at all, but it's a nice added benefit. I have injections every 18 weeks in my forehead to stop chronic migraines. I'd tried all the medications etc, and this is the only thing that has really given me my life back. It lasts 18 weeks before I start getting background headaches again. It is costly, but it's worth it for me. I never had wrinkles up there to begin with, but certainly don't have them now either. I know some people also get Botox in their jaw or neck for other types of pain.

I’m 63 and find it a little disturbing how woman can’t be happy with the aging process , but I admit if I worked in a clinic and saw the results, and was offered it free I am sure I would try it!

it’s disturbing how this has become so normalized, that there are full on discussions and youtube clips devoted to this, I don’t have anything ‘against botox’ there are just so many more worthwhile and positive things to talk about. It’s really unbecoming, what a paradox, right?!

Lol, when I was 39 years old I remember saying the same things about not caring about wrinkles. Back then I truly didn't care. Fast forward 20 years, I'm saying "why didn't I get Botox a decade ago to prevent all these horrible wrinkles" ... When people start saying "you look tired" after a full night rested sleep, I stopped being accepting of my wrinkles.

Botox really can’t make you look weird. It’s fillers that make you look strange and have pillow face. The fillers can be scary…. If you get too much.

There are Botox horror stories so yeah it can make you look weird and that’s the least of it. Always do your research and be very careful where you get anything done even if it is a super simple procedure that usually has no complications.

it is better to do permanent plastic surgery by transferring fat for our own body to wrinkles on face. this is my plan but not in Canada since it is so expensive. I do not see any difference on your face.

I don't like that well to do women can afford botox and other beauty services but poor women can't. Some of them are struggling to feed their families while others are throwing away money on botox.

This is a really judgemental comment. What is a "well to do woman"? Someone who has worked their ass off for years and made money? People can do whatever they want with their money and should not be judged for it. Your comment reads like you think these 'well to do women' have things handed to them. I have been working and paying to get myself educated since I was 13 years old and I'll 'throw away' my money on whatever I want.

Bravissima!! I couldn't agree more about your perspective on Botox and wrinkles. I'm 63, and I don't wear make-up, I cut my own hair, etc. But over the past 5 years or so, I've just begun to wonder if I should worry about the little lines that are appearing. Fortunately, my son always reminds me that I've earned them and that they are beautiful. He reminds me of the Japanese art of kintsugi, which I love, where they fill fractures in pottery with gold to make them even more beautiful rather than hide them. And it's related to the philosphy of wabi sabi; rather than mess it up, here's the wiki lihk: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wabi-sabi Trust me, it's absolutely worth reading. Thinking of one's wrinkles from these perspectives is much healthier than emptying one's bank account chasing an impossible dream.
