This new firmware update, version 3.0, for the Fuji X-H2s, is full of improvements that make this camera a better value. Improved autofocus tracking and speed are the top two improvements, but there is also two new categories of subject detection for insects and drones. This also includes support for the wireless transmitter, the FT-XH, and the TG-BT1, the bluetooth remote grip designed for vlogging as well as remote control of the new PZ lenses.

Wish fuji gave us object tracking when you tap on the location like they have in photo mode. I did my update last night and I did see a great improvement. Overall I’m super super happy with my xh2s.

Youre well versed in cameras, obviously know your stuff……for me, some of its hard to follow bc of not being as equally versed ….but just bc of how fast you go. Too fast to compute bc I am learning. all your thumbnails are really good, (I click bc of it) subject material great/titles are what I need. But its just super speed.

XH2s + 50 f1 works really bad on AFC, on mechanical shutter for some reason the camera is slower focusing and even with 15fps shutter only works when focused

Oh no! That's an incredible lens from everything I've heard. Disappointing that it's not working well for you on the X-H2s!

Because there are many heavy glass inside the 50 F1, the elements inside takes time to travel from one end of the focus position to the other. Turn on Pre-Focus function, what this does is that whenever you point your camera at any subject, the lens will start racking focus and focusing anything that is inside the focusing box wherever you place them without even pressing the shutter button or any back-button focus button. So when you are ready to start tracking or focus, the lens will already be there or at least very close to focus. This speeds up the focus. I’ve never had any problems now that I use this little trick with the 50 F1 on my XH2. Granted, this lens was not designed for tracking fast moving subjects like running kids or sports, so even with the new firmware, expect some missed shots if your subjects are fast moving unpredictably. For these subjects, the 33 F1.4, 90mm F2 and 50-140 F2.8 do the job much better because of the linear motor. Sucks that Fuji doesn’t have any primes in 50mm / 56mm focal range with a linear motor. Just the 16-55 2.8 and 50-140 2.8, neither will give us bokehliciousness 😂 Happy shootings.

@@ryanhoviolin I was obviously talking about 3.00 firmware performance, the lens used to perform really well for both photo and video and now it's useless, hope they'll fix those issues because I am totally sick of paying full frame money on a system just to get nothing in return

I did the firmware update via the app... turned out that I needed to update my X-H2 firmware, as well.

I've heard updating via the app is not always successful - were there any issues?

@@WesKriesel None whatsoever. I've used the Android version of the app in the past that had a few rare quirks, but I have not had any issues using the iOS version. Appreciate the How-To, though. I received the new tripod grip a few days ago thinking that it should work with both my X-H cams, but I think the minor firmware update on the X-H2 and this firmware 3.0 on X-H2s added the support.

The specs look incredible. I'd say if you are interested in it, you should try to get your hands on one and try it out. For me, it's very close to what the X-H2s offers, and I'm in love with it already, so very little reason to change for me. Also it means a whole new lens system and no film simulations, so while it's a great camera, it's not for me. That's my two cents! Are you thinking primarily about video?
