Nice looking ride Kevin. I've got a '23 Trail Boss, same color. Got it last June last year. Initially had several software issues, but so far all seems to be good, with no issues. There is an issue you should be aware of, is when going thru car washes, the roof may flex & some people are reporting dents. I have NOT had that issue (dents), but I can hear the "banging" sound when the roof flexes. GM has a fix for this issue & my dealership has ordered the "roof stiffening supports" to be applied. Good luck with your ride!

Thanks Brian! Perhaps my trucks software has been updated due to be late in the model year. Love the Trail Boss too. Both the ZR2 and the Trail Boss get the wider track which gives these trucks a nice stance. I only use touchless car washes, so I should be fine with the roof issue but thanks for letting me know. Thanks for the comment!

Kevin, according to what I've read about the roof issues, reports are saying that it has been happening primarily in "touch-less" car washes because of the heavy water pressure & also the high-power blowers during the drying process. None the less, hopefully you won't have the issues. Take care!

Thanks for your honest perspective. I hope the truck gives you everything you bought it for. I am very interested in the 2024 Trail Boss trim. Lower level in Off-road amenities and interior aesthetic but closer to my price comfort zone. If I had the money

I have been watching a lot of videos on the Trail Boss trim. Despite some of the setbacks of not having LED’s, it’s a great truck for a great price (relative to the times of course). Over time you can upgrade the Trail Boss to be just as capable than the ZR2. Thanks for the comment!

Excellent! I look forward to seeing how the Colorado holds up. It is a good looking truck. I hope you don't go through the BS you had to deal with on your Ford. My F-150 Powerboost is still holding up but Ford just announced a recall that includes mine.

Congrats!! 🎉🎉 I’ve been eyeing this truck for over a month now and in that time I’ve changed my mind from the Bison due to pricing and honestly, I don’t need that much power and off-roading since in live in the soul of the city. I had concerns about navigating around double parked cars and narrow streets. Your video was very helpful with reference to your thoughts about navigating in the city. I too will be driving daily although MTA is readily available but I’d drive a little further if I can get free parking. So I’ve change my find from the Bison to the ZR2 and I’m pretty much made up my mind on it. I know I’m looking at 52k with pkgs. added from building on the site. I checked inventory of a few dealers and yes these are all hard to find. Love the ground clearance and tires. Love the spare under position. It is badass for sure. Awesome news about the gas. Anyway, great video. I’ll keep watching. ❤❤❤

Thanks for watching and commenting! I agree the Bison is nice but the value for your money on the ZR2 can’t be beat. It’s one of the best trucks you can buy right now. I wish the MPG’s were a bit better, but if you go into it knowing that you’re okay. If you tow, the Trail Boss or Z71 might be better options. Check out the Pickup Truck SUV Talk channel. One of their journalists vlogged about her experience with living with the ZR2 in Chicago for a week. Definitely not a problem in the city.

Can you share the dealership you purchased your ZR2?
@KevinExclamationPoint
@KevinExclamationPoint 9 ай бұрын
@@LOutlaw700 Joe Basil Chevrolet. They have two ‘23 ZR2’s in-stock on their website but they both don’t have the convenience or tech packages, so they’re essentially base ZR2’s. If that’s all you’re looking for then they could be opportunities for good deals.

Also the ZR2 has the same engine and power/torque output as the Bison.

Truck looks really good! Ordered one, can't wait. Did you have to pay crazy dealer add-ons? Out here in NV. dealers are notorious for that.

Awesome truck. Sounds like you got a deal . I've been on the fence about buying a new Colorado. I don't need a crew cab and could make better use of the longer bed that GM offered with the previous generation. I'm looking forward to learning more about your experience with your new truck.

Are you off-roading or towing with it? Or are you driving it very spiritedly? I have some hilly areas where I drive, so that might affect it a bit.

I hear ya. I kind of like it, but didn’t buy the truck because it had that engine. I do think it’s impressive they can pull the torque numbers they do out of it. Thanks for the comment.

@@KevinExclamationPoint I wish they kept the baby Duramax as an option. That is the only thing keeping me from trading in my 22 ZR2 for the new body style

@@RobertJohnson-gy9ky I would’ve definitely considered that engine if they still had it. If they’re keeping a diesel option in the Silverado and Sierra for now, why not find a way to make the 3.0L work in the Colorado/Canyon? That way just one engine.

It’s funny you mention the sunroof, my wife’s 17 Highlander has been 100% reliable except for the sunroof started leaking. I had to replace it for $1500 because it was one of the only things not covered under warranty. I never understood the point of these things, if the top doesn’t come off, what is the point of having a sunroof? Do you need a see up? Lol
@KevinExclamationPoint
@KevinExclamationPoint 9 ай бұрын
Lol! Yeah, I feel the same way! The windows bring enough light in the cabin for me, no need for one on the roof.
