Hey Bill & Elizabeth, I'm a retired nurse and have health issues as well. My main healthcare provider is a nurse practitioner, but my oncologist told me that a nurse practitioner is NOT a doctor and if you're having some major issues you need to see a doctor - mainly an internal medicine doctor (nothing against nurse practitioners - 2 of my best friends are NPs). Also, if you call your cardiologist and let them know that you couldn't get an appointment with the pulmonologist until December and can they please call to see if they can get you a quicker appointment, sometimes that works and worth a try. Please take care. Prayers are being sent up for you. Love y'all!

I'm fighting for my life right now....I had to find a Dr. that would listen to me... Even after I had a stroke that was never address...apparently I complained too much about my partial loss of vision. then when I finally lost it completely I was passed down to a NP...

I recently had that experience of the hospital ER getting me an earlier follow up appointment. The office set it 3 months out as a follow up to 2 ER visits when I called. The hospital got it for 5 days post when they called. I've been retired from nursing for over a decade. Medical systems have changed greatly in that time.

This is a lot of what I told my mother, she's going to go back to an endocrinologist after a NP put her on Ozempic. I looked it up finally and warned my mother. If you have certain things that have happened to you, you can't take it. I am one of those people whose had pancreatitus 4 times, I can't take it according to the paper report on it.

Elizabeth needs to see a pulmonary physician ASAP!! Do not fall thru the cracks! You need to have an oxygen concentrator in your home. You may need oxygen! This is so important. You cannot wait until December to see the specialist.

Elizabeth I (67yrs) also had the C virus in March of 2020. Like you I had every symptom and my Doctor said it was better to stay home. I was sick for 34 days. On the 14th day I went to get up to walk the 12ft to the bathroom and got short of breath. That is when I knew it was going to be a lot harder to get over that Virus. After 34 days I thought the C Virus was over and I felt better I was getting stronger. After about a month I noticed if I did too much I would get extremely fatigued and short of breath and that annoying dry cough was back. I have never had fatigue like that. I have had shortness of breath, because I too have asthma. I have now had those leftover symptoms this since my C Virus. Some days I feel stronger and do a task only to immediately need a nap. Other days I just feel weak as a kitten. Some call it Long Covid. I don't know what it is. My Doctor said it was Long Covid too. I just take it one day at a time and Trust as you both do. Keep strong in your heart the body will follow slowly, but it will follow. My Mom was an old time R.N. and when I was at my worst and my lungs were full she came to me in a dream. She leaned down over me, got right in my face and said "How many times have I said STEAM!!! Treat the symptoms". I got out of bed immediately and went upstairs to the attic and got the Vicks warm air Steamer. After filling it with water I put Oregano oil in the medicine cup and turned it on. I kept it going for 3.5 days. At 3.5 days I could tell my lungs were clear and I knew I would be getting better. I guess Mom's still need to watch over us even if it is from Heaven. Take it one day at a time and get better❤.

my husband has long haul twice and was fully vaccinated I've been watching Dr John Campbell I really respect him he's here on KZbin he talks about Long Haul covid and hbot hyperbaric oxygen therapy we've had one for several years because he had oral cancer and necrotic tissue in his jaw from the radiation so rather than go to the hospital for several months every day we purchased the rispero 270 HBO therapy equipment includes an oxygenator and a few other little goodies and we've been using it for several years but then he stopped about a year and a half ago but now after listening to John Campbell and what they're finding about Long Haul and that the hyperbaric oxygen therapy being a very good way to get your body into better shape so those that have been taking the HBOT are beginning to feel better and finding Better Health. We have offered hbot therapy treatments to others who need it for little to no charge as we feel it's a good Ministry for us to help others while we have the means I've been thinking about Elizabeth and the health issues I went through I took a methyl B12 and that saved my life I made a video about it after I suffered serious peripheral neuropathy fatigue dizziness and a host of other odd symptoms I saw for neurologist and I told me it was not a vitamin or mineral deficiency turned out they were wrong and Angie and nurse conduction test proved that the methyl B12 is what helped me get rid of their neuropathy and the muscle weakness but my problem is Crohn's and having had two bowels surgeries and so my health issues are a lot different but everybody can benefit from taking methyl B12 it can't hurt you and us lab standard values wrong and our B12 levels should be well over 900 as UK Japan and China suggest anything under 600 is deadly.... and the best way to find your true a 12 level is by MMA that's methyl melonic acid level and it's done by urine

My brother who is 58 years old, had these EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS and it was discovered that his thyroid gland was no longer functioning. Listening to Elizabeth, it's like listening to my brother before his diagnosis. Now, several months later, he's doing FANTASTIC. He takes a thyroid pill once each day and that's it. I forget the name of it, but it is a substitute for the thyroid hormone that his thyroid gland is no longer producing on its own. I don't know if this is what you're dealing with, but I thought I'd mention it to you. No one was suspecting the problem was my brother's thyroid gland either. You may want to get yours checked (It's just a blood test).

Wow Elizabeth, watching you and hearing your story is like looking into the mirror a year and a half ago! After all the tests it came down to my heart was not pumping efficiently. I had a virus right before covid that damaged my heart eventually, the doctor put me on Entresto and a I still couldn’t make it from one side of the room to another so they decided it must be fluid around my heart so they added a diuretic and after a few months, I started feeling better. I still have days like you’re having today. I will be continuing to pray for you 💚. You are speaking better than the last time when you were sharing about all this!

BINGO!!! I hope they read your post. My husband experienced what you experienced. Ever third pump was strong… the other two were faint. I had long COVID. 3 months after having it, lost half of my hair, iron and vitamin D dropped dangerously low, mysterious nosebleeds for 8 days and I've never had one in my life. The first nosebleed was so bad that it was like someone just turned the faucet on. Went to the ER and then to an ENT for that. No known cause they said? 🤔 Then the lady who took my blood was also having hair loss so bad that she was looking for a wig and was in iron transfusions after having COVID right when I had it. I had to have an UPPER GI because they were convinced by my iron panel that I was losing blood from somewhere. Nothing. This went on from the day after Easter until this past October. So for 6 months...9 months total after having COVID. I'm not the only one with the iron dropping and nosebleeds. I had to ask my doctor to check my vitamin D and potassium because I had read many people having issues with that after COVID. Good thing I did. My D was at 17.5, It should be no lower than 30. Potassium was ok. It's been a crazy ride and I'm here to say, Long COVID is real. If I could show you pictures of the hair lost in just two days it would drop your jaw. It looked like I was on chemo. Someone who also had COVID did a lot of research into it and said that there was a chemo drug in it. 😳 Don't know if that is true, but it sure looked like it. Not one doctor would admit that it was from having COVID. Only asked if I wanted the jab 😒

@@313girl5 So many people have suffered with long covid however my sister in law had the covid jab just as many did and then months later she began bruising all over her body. This has been going on now over a year and being investigated and then the other day they told her she now has leukaemia. They still think it is due to the jab so she hasn't had any boosters. It's just such an unknown that you just don't know how you will react, quite scary really but if it helps reduce the symptoms of covid then I guess it is worth it.

Ask your primary physician for a REFERRAL to the pulmonary specialist who first noticed something off. Always follow your instinct. I cared for my mother for 15 yrs and the medical system is very messed up these days (I worked in health care) and it's disorganized a lot lately especially with Covid etc. Also that wheezing and being cold are signs of circulation problems and they should test you for oxygen levels. You are fortunate that a pulmonary specialist brought this to your attention so you can address that. Prayers for a healthy outcome.

I was an RN for 15 and I dropped my license in January because of how badly the field of healthcare has changed since March of 2020. “Disorganized” is a very nice way to put it. The shortness of breath, the heaviness of the chest, the weakness, exhaustion. Also did you have a TEE? That is an ultrasound that they do down your throat to look at the valves of your heart. She ended up having both her aortic and mitro valves replaced. She had a sore throat and didn’t know but it went to rheumatic valve disease. Also her cardiologists said since the pressure valve was over 40 it had to be replaced immediately. I would urge you to find out what the pressure of your valve is.

When you said you have had Covid, a bell went off for me. My hubby and I had Covid really bad in November of 2021. I spent a week in the hospital, most days on oxygen because I could not breath.my hubby was in for over three weeks before being sent to a rehab center because he lost the use of his legs. He had dementia and Covid accelerated his disease to the later stages and he never recovered. I lost him in January. Covid left me with heart issues, weakness, breathing problems, inactive thyroid, and more. My reason for telling you all this is because I want you to be aware of Covid after effects. It has been almost a year since I had it, but I am on more medicine than I like. It’s like taking one medicine and then another to offset the side effects. I am praying daily for you. Hi Elizabeth. I'm an RN like so many on here and have been dealing with recent health issues. Even I don't know what's going on anymore! The medical field has gotten so crazy. I woke up one night with horrible chest pains and my heart jumping all over my chest. Husband called an ambulance, gave me the 4 baby aspirin to chew like the 911 operator told him to do. That pretty much stopped most of the chest pain by the time the ambulance was pulling away with me or something did. Everything checked out fine in the hospital, stayed 4 days because it was over a w/e. Did throw some cardiac enzymes, not a huge amount like with a heart attack. Angiogram, echocardiogram, CT all came back great! Went home with a heart monitor, quickly became allergic to the adhesive on the heart monitor, but managed to hang in there and wear it 3 or 4 days out of the 2 weeks I was supposed to. It showed A-Fib, got a b/p pill for that although I don't have high b/p, so it dropped my b/p to 92/50 and my heartrate down into the 50's. If you have a low heartrate, you will feel weak and cold like you are. Continue to have chest pain and shortness of breath, cardiologist says it's not heart related, but pulmonary. So, I have an appt with pulmonologist for Dec 22. Told my PCP that I was getting worse and wasn't going to live long unless they got themselves into gear. He ordered my pulmonary function test and CT of my lungs. They came back with moderate COPD and some restriction in the lungs. I've never smoked, COPD doesn't run in my family. PFT showed that Albuteral inhaler doesn't help. My c-reactive protein levels in the hospital were at a critical level. Cardiologist in the hospital said that indicates an autoimmune disease, so I've looked up autoimmune diseases that affect the lungs. If you haven't had your c-reactive protein levels checked, I would do so. It's a blood test. They were a bit high when I was in my 30's, but now they are critical in my 60's. PCP said it takes approx 6 years to diagnose an autoimmune disease. I'm keeping the appt with the pulmonologist and have an appt with a rheumatologist, for the autoimmune disease, on March 30th. It was made way back in July! Anymore, it seems you have to be your own patient advocate or have a spouse or family member that is, otherwise you slip through the cracks.

Keep on them. My daughter has been since March testing and trying to get doctors to listen to her and only just today got the answers we needed. Tumor (not cyst like they said initially ) on her kidney-not good. She is in her 30’s! God has this for her and He has this for you. Prayers for answers. Prayers for healing. Prayers for Gods will, mercy and grace for all.

Oh I see the improvement in you Elizabeth! Your eyes are much brighter and your energy level is up a lot from that last video. Trust your gut on this! My husband refused to accept he was COPD as told by his general doc and after a few changes in treatment and facilities he was given a much better outlook on his pulmo condition. He too had a long history with asthma/allergies and recently AFIB! (AFIB is gone now too so all improvements are possible!) I know you're keeping the faith but you and Bill are the best team and will make the best decisions! 😘 🙏 ❤

Bill and Elizabeth, my family had covid the week after Thanksgiving in 2020 and again the first week of August this year. I developed diabetes in October of 21 and am having some other health issues now. I did research and found that a lot of things such as diabetes happen to some people after covid. And then there is the long covid with all it's symptoms. Please have Bill or someone research long covid to see if it matches some of your symptoms. It may point you or your doctors in a direction which can get you the treatment you need. God bless you and I love you.

My husband used to wheeze a lot and thought he had asthma. He was on an inhaler for a few years. He would have a bad attack about once a year that would send him to the hospital. They would give him breathing treatments and other meds and he would get better. Then one day he had a heart attack and found that he had a major blockage. He had a stent put in and magically the asthma went away. What we realized was it was his heart all along. With you being so cold and tired it makes me think you have more issues with your heart. I’m no professional just wanted to add our experience. My mom was also very tired and couldn’t walk much. She ended up having her heart valve replacement. They found it from the heart murmur. She was 71. Praying for the right doctors who can figure this out and make you well again. You are very much loved.

I have just gone through surgery and tests that you descibed. Shortness of breath being one of the top issues and exhaustion. I have decided that being over weight could easily be a factor that I can do without. Within 2 weeks I have lost 4 pounds so far. This may also enable me to walk with less pain in my hips. All the best to you in your recovery. Love your hoodie. My thick fuzzy socks keep my cold feet happy. Take care.
@moonfall89722 жыл бұрын
A loss of 4lbs won't have any effect whatsoever on your hips; even a greater loss won't if osteo is advanced. There's. The good news is that anterior-approach hip replacements are quite tolerable, especially if one loses weight before the surgery(s).

my mom had the same symptoms. she was diagnosed with aortic stenosis. She would get completely out of breath like you're describing for just walking a few feet. She had her heart valve replaced and the doctor put in a cow's valve. She was fine after that. She went to Dr Kevin Accola. He is the best surgeon in Orlando Florida and he has a great bedside manner. I would get a second opinion. After her surgery she was back to normal. I hope you get a second opinion. God bless you.

I also got covid in 2020. My issue was my GI system. I started reacting to everything -food, animals, cleaning products, you name it, I reacted with eye swelling and IBS symptoms, awful fatigue and headaches. So lovely to see you, Elizabeth! Lovely, yet also hard, in a way, realizing the physical effort it took to make this update. I'm praying for healing, for answers -- as someone with life-threatening liver issues, I understand the frustration of being shuffled from doctor to doctor, and none of them seeming to be in agreement. But I also know the peace that comes from remembering our lives were never in their human hands to begin with, we're held by a Creator infinitely more aware of our needs.
