The Lamu port is good benefit for the northern Kenya region.,Northern Kenya is the Salvation of Kenya because of the economical benefit that if utilized in good a manner will make Kenya a prosperous Nation.Northern Kenya Turkana County has 600 million barrels of oil,Surguta Valley has potential 10,000 Mw of clean geothermal that can meet Kenyans energy needs forever since its renewable ,Chalbi Desert has 2.2 billion cubic metres of underground water that restocked on daily bases that can meet Kenya water needs for 6oyrs meaning no more water shortage in Kenya. The by products from oil like propane and rubber can create jobs by creating propane gas plants Tyre plants from the rubber not to mention the brine water from the geothermal energy contains Lithium meaning we Kenya can make Lithium Batteries

Good and Informative. But Kenya need to industrialize, and very fast, so that these projects like Lapsset, Kilindini Harbor, SGR, Kisumu Port, will not MAINLY being used to bring in IMPORTED goods, but also the manufactured goods in Kenya for Export. That will profit more the country, than when they are just receivers of imported goods which mainly benefit foreign countries.

This is what Lamu needed. The port is not close to Lamu. Lamu will remain Lamu the only difference with more investments and people visiting thus creating jobs for the people. Lamu has strict codes on mainatining the island as a unesco site. Actually the only problem i have with lamu island is boda bodas allowed to move around the town losing its allure of no vehicular cars but donkeys
