Update on Yellow Cobra Cross, Food Sale & Tiger King Cobra Sale

Glad that all's back to normal Doug 👌👍 Power outages are always a nuisance... sorry you lost some stock. My last cross of dumbo ear mosaic with yellow female a few mths back produced a standard male. Sadly none of the female fry survived. The males are a hb yellow/red with yellow ears...really pretty fish. Anyways you take care of yourself and let's hope no more weather/ power issues🤞

Thank you Michael! Sorry to hear about the cross but things like that happen. Was it primarily 75% or more males in the batch? The 2 day power outage shouldn't happen here. There are 5 million people in Philly and 1 million in the part of the city I live in. The problem was it was just 2 houses and they really didn't care.

@@DGrey Wow your city's population is more than twice my country 's population 😳 The brood was quite small, 5 males and I think it was 6 or 7 females.

@@michaela-be4le That's a pretty good ratio. Sadly I've had some crosses that were 80% to all males. Can't go anywhere with that. Philly is a big city & we take services for granted. I'm considering a generator but it's looking to be too expensive.

@@DGrey It'll be a substantial investment indeed but that safety net may be worth the piece of mind. Especially for things like fridge, heat/ac & fish room.

Thank you Renee! It never happens like that here, that was a first. It was caused by a dead branch that landed on our lines and the branch is still there. Hopefully they will get it removed this week so it doesn't happen again.

Sorry for your losses, we have been thru it as well. Lost all 10 tanks (some up to 75 g) of years of work, and a mated pair of axys. These are beautiful!

@@DGrey thanks, it’s been a few years. I’m building back up, got my first tank full of guppies. Tried to introduce some blue moscows and “Big Blue” a monster female harassed all 4 to death. I’ve got about 18-25 adult guppies, not sure why she went after them lol

@@AbbyBane. Wow that can happen sadly. I put in 2 beautiful half black aoc males with 2 females and was going to film a video. Before I got back to the tank the males' tails were shredded.

Thank you for watching! I considered a generator but in Philly it's rare to lose power for more than an hour. This was caused by a tree branch and only affected 2 houses so zero priority until I called the councilman. I've lost power in the winter once or twice but it was back before the house temps dropped much.

I've lost power in winter before. I covered my tanks with those space emergency reflective blankets and then regular blankets on top of those, to keep in as much heat as possible. Our power wasn't out long and my fish were fine with the blankets covering their tanks. No losses. I've heard of people using hand/foot warmers on the outside glass of tanks but I'd be careful with that, that the glass doesn't crack.

Thats sucks. I feel for those axolotls. Where they truly wilds? Or wild morphs you got from a breeder? Either way man..... Surprised they died with temp raise that quickly.

Thank you very much! Wild morphs, still cool little guys. Luckily the leucistic axolotls were fine. I'm not sure if I'll replace the wilds or not.
