The real question here is how Cambodia will escape from China’s debt trap, which is not going to be easy. Starting from 2040, every newly-industrialized nation in Asia (Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam are included) will make a transition to become a higher income country with advanced mixed economy and will share the same quality of life of those countries in Central Europe. What do you expect to see from lower-income countries like Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar in 2040? This is going to be interesting.
