Other than shampoo those are the only products ive been using and it works great. I twist my hair every week or 2 and it looks really good every time. Blow-drying your hair stretches it so it should definitely affect the length for your twists. And I didn't use gel on my twists, just cream, but that'd probably because I wanted a twist-out and took my twists down an hour or so after they had set
