Without a vent between the P trap and where the horizontal drain line turns down, you've created an S trap. The hjigh volume of water being pumped into the drain can siphon the water in the trap allowing sewer gases to escape into the room.

Just a minor suggestion. I would have put the washer to the left to facilitate transfer from the dryer to the folding table, but maybe the utilities got in the way. Also I’ve heard front loaders don’t last as long. Nice job! Thanks very much this help me with my project.

Thanks 4 sharing your knowledge! How do you address the plumbing that has been retired? Maybe even put in a very slim sink as an option later. Do you leave it capped or just completely remove?
@sergeantsausage2609 Жыл бұрын
looks great, but is that drain properly vented? that looks like an S trap to me.

Perfect for freezing pipes. Never put water lines in outside walls. You’ll spend more in frozen pipe repairs than you did installing it in the first place.

@susannovak82635 жыл бұрын
Frank Gutowski - you’ve made quite a few comments on this video, all of them really negative and snarky. I’m sure you’re an expert in all things, but this guy did the work himself in his own house so what do you care? By the way, I have a high efficiency front loader that’s been working great for 21 years and still going strong.
@ThePolaroid6695 жыл бұрын
So environmentally unfriendly to get of two working appliances. Yes, the washer might use less water, but the amount of energy used to get the iron ore out of the ground, move it, smelt it, press it, paint it, and the plastics created from non-renewable resources, FAR out weigh the water savings. Bad choice.
@justmydeals4 жыл бұрын
John Grieve He donated his older appliances to someone who needed them. Stop judging!
