Today I'm taking you guys on a bit of a non-conventional house tour of our super tiny 500 sq ft beach home/cottage/bungalow in Southern California and sharing our minimalist story. We love the place where we live, even though it's small (one bed/one bath) and we're a family of four... I really believe you don't NEED more space if you're feeling crammed and overwhelmed in your home, what you need is LESS STUFF. I've lived both sides of that coin and sometimes I can't believe we live with 2 kids in a space this small either, but this video explains all the ways we make it happen and why we actually don't hate it! 🤪😂

I grew up with my parents and 2 siblings in a one bedroom 5 of us total) for a big chunk of our lives & while it felt crowded at times it was the homiest of homes brings back so many wonderful memories :)

I love this ! Beautiful family. My husband and I just bought a 700sqft little cottage that sits on 4,400 sqft land and is super excited to spend most our days hanging outside! Funny thing I’m getting a bit of flack from my parents and it’s effecting me a bit, but I like what you said about remember you’re why, because I too would like to leave a low carbon footprint on this planet 🌎 . Just discovered your videos. Love your mindset. We raised our son very much like you guys are raising your kids. When he was born we lived in Thailand and we lived in a little two bedroom bungalow very close to the beach. The main room in our bungalow served as a bedroom for all three of us, a living room and dining room. It served us so, so well and we would probably still be living there now had my Mum not become sick forcing us to move to the UK. Your kids have a great life spending so much time outdoors!

Beautiful home 😍 What are your plans for the future for space for teens and young adults in your home? I ask as I have 5 kids ages 2-15 and finding I can’t follow through with my minimalist mentality now my kids are older. Like you, I did it so well when they were young.

Where do the kids sleep? And if you all share a bed (I’m assuming) how will that go as the kids get older? I’m all for less, but I do think the kids should have a separate room from their parents. Not phased about kids sharing, but they should have their own space.

hey 500 sq is the inside only or outsde too? as 150square meters is a pretty decent house with 5 bedrooms am confused about the size. i live in 96square meters and i'm going towards minimalism but my teen-kids have their own bedrooms all small. 1 bath 1 master, open living+kitchen. also you videos are very motivating to watch and calming. thanks for sharing.
