Live 2 is my first mpc i like it, i hear a lot of complaints from people who used the previous mpcs that i can understand right now. I enjoy bringing this to coffee shops and catching a vibe.

Having trouble deciding between this and the One. Sure, the one is more economical but I get the feeling I’ll be satisfied with the portability of the Live II in the long run.

Tbh, I was hoping you were telling more of a story around this device. How does it stack up to its predecessors and legacy MPCs? Where does it sit in the current MPC lineup? What are its advantages/disadvantages over the other MPCs? Who is it for? What are the experiences with this device? Which famous tracks are made with it? Which famous producers are using it? That sort of stuff.

The mobility of this unit is brilliant but, there's only so much bass speakers of that size can push out. Also to me there's too much menu diving on it, took mine back & got the X it has more dedicated buttons & more In's & out's. Akai has really cornered the market with production units, if you need a central hub unit get the X, if you want to move around get the One, if you want something in between get the Live II.

Playback should be smart, just use the speakers to judge distance or sounds in relationship to the mix not for happytime. If you want happytime use headset or buy monitors. That's how I use them but I'm an engineer so I never play it loud.
