Great channel. I’ve seen a few of your vids. More recently, the three things to look for when buying boots. Here’s one question... How does one expand the tops of boots? I have a pair of boots I got online, a pair of 16-17” tall tops, and the shafts are a bit tight-fitting. What is a DIY method to expand it? Or do I just wear them constantly for the leather to naturally expand to the width (circumference) of my legs? Or if I take it to a cobbler, what kind of adjustments are done? Thanks in advance.

First, I apologize for the late reply. As for the tops, there are a couple of options. If you are able to get the boots on and they are just tight, taking them to a cobbler would help. We have a shaft stretcher to stretch the tops out a bit. Usually you can get about a half inch or more depending on leather. You can do this at home if you have $160 plus to spend on a stretcher, we charge $15 at our shop to stretch out boots. Where are you located? I may be able to refer you to someone close to you.

@@MannyTheBootmaker no worries. I live out of the country, but I will be visiting Atlanta (my hometown) next month. I may possibly pass by Warner Robins, but that’s up in the air right now. Yeah, the boots for fine on my foot, and I can put them on. But the tops are a bit tight, and I don’t mind them being let out an inch or so. Thanks for the tip!

I have a question about boot heels. I have a pair of boots with a 1 1/4 inch heel but i want the heel height of these boots to match with the rest of my boots at 1 1/2 inch. is it possible to increase the height by just a quarter inch or does it throw the boot off structure/balance? I have another question also, I plan to get a pair of square toe boots with a walking heel, but I want to know if it's possible to have the walking heel changed to an underslung heel? Increasing the boot height by another quarter of an inch should not be a problem. You are more than welcome to seek your local cobbler to assist you. If you don't have a local one, you are more than welcome to ship to us. Happy holidays. I apologize for the late reply.

I live on a farm and can’t find a good pair of boots to last. We work cattle, bale hay, etc. What boot would you recommend that would last and be a more comfortable option?
