Burl is a rare wood these days because it is so expensive and loved for its distinct beauty. For this project I prefer the original wood, but that’s me. I’m a few decades older than you, just like those pieces. 😊 I’m excited for your new business venture and wish you the best!

My grandfather built a bedroom for my grandmother when they got married in the 1930s and used real burlwood, and it looked slightly different than the furniture in the video, which looks like something from the 1990s

If you look closely at some of the underside of the furniture pieces, it looks like mdf board. Also look at the construction drawer dust boxes, drawers, and drawer slides. High quality pieces are wood in all of these areas. Finally mdf furniture tends to be much heavier than solid wood furniture. For this type of mass produced furniture, painting is fine.

It kooks great..I love your redos but in this case, I never never would have painted over that wood. Plus the wood tones are definitely coming back in style. I wouldve taken it like it was and been very happy!! 😊❤

19:19 My Daddy was a house painter, as his second job. Main job was as a firefighter. He would mix up all his left over paint and paint the front porch or something like that. I grew up with our front porch always being some kind of muddy brownish color. LOL I had forgotten all about that until you mentioned that. My mother used to say the shoemaker's kids had no shoes and we had all the leftover paint for our front porch. I'm loving it that you are mixing greens with greens. :) It turned out a beautiful color. We would've been proud to have our front porch painted that color! :D That said, if I moved somewhere, he would get the good stuff in the color I wanted. Thanks Daddy. Thanks for the memory.

I have that suite! Bought it in 1976. We had built new home and had mostly handed furniture. Love it when I bought it love it still. Loved your update in color and update on base design. Only thing I would have done different is painted bases in high gloss or lacquer black. Bravo! Another great flip!

I love the color. I'm a huge fan of the two tone with wood and paint. I did find wood grain on the drawers stunning and womder what it would have looked like if those were refinished and the rest painted.

Looks so very pretty good color choices! As I’m sure u know it’s heavy pressed board. Had furniture like that and it can’t take the moisture. It also needs a lot of support in the bottom area due to its heaviness and potential sagging possibilities, because it can sag. It does make beautiful furniture as as long as it has support and kept dry will last a long time.

The burl I wouldn’t have painted but the rest I would have. I believe strongly in using what you have. I would have cut the legs squared, only because I didn’t think of using an angle. It looks great! I probably would price it 4k. It’s solid and well done.

Oh dear!!! I know you wanted to update this set....but, did u realize this set had a unique oriental asthetic??😮 The curved base and the round brass hardware shows that. Plus, the burl wood was awsome. I wish u would have just gave it a good polish. Some furniture is great with the original finish, even if it's not modern. It looks beautiful. I would charge $3000. Don’t price yourself cheaper than any other store. Also don’t forget to add in your overhead cost for the storefront, possible delivery, taxes, insurance etc. I think the pieces are gorgeous and I love what you did with the bottom piece and the paint wash. I really like the wood on the inside of the drawer fronts, and door fronts. It looks similar to something called a burl. That is really figured wood grain. Love the color that you chose, and how you updated the front.😊Good luck on the storefront, y'all deserve the best!

The moment I saw those legs, I, too, thought that squaring off that curved line would be just the thing. Your diagonal is perfect! The base color and the champagne mist hardware (minus the big round brass plates, and rightly so) look good. I'm not a huge fan of green furniture, but can see how this subtle green would be someone's taste for sure.
