great idea bagging up everything and marking it. One thought I had was you might add a small pair of binos for scouting ahead so maybe she would see problems before she walks into it.

I suggest sir, use the brown bag or camo bag- your wife's best defense is to hide. Increase the fire starting ability - she is female she will get cold. - if things are that bad and she's on foot give her long underwear at least. - I know you want to know where she is so you can help but funneling her into a set route is dangerous for her. Have a little faith in her ability. - hiking shoes or boots is a good idea. - I say give the blue bag to a friend. - have your wife use the buddy system as security , Many eyes and ears are a force multiplier. - always have a metal mug or canteen cup, filters can fail. - coffee or tea is always nice. - your wife's favorite hard candy for an added boost in energy. - a small am / FM radio because she will want to know why she's hiding and traveling on foot , don't forget the ear buds. - space blankets only keep the wind and rain off which gives the impression of warmth, and you already have to be warm to reflect any heat back ! Space blankets are a fantasy, a garbage bag raincoat and fleece jacket are 10 times better. - gloves, don't forget them. - go for a long walk together in the comfy shoes to get an idea of how fast you travel in your wife's current physical shape- I move at 4kms per / hr and need 3 bottles of water to do it on good ground. - something to think about. - best piece of advice let your wife build the bag after your long,long walk while keeping notes.

Good video as always. I presume that your wife will be wearing footwear that she can travel in or there will be a pair of broken in hiking shoes close to the bag with the jacket. If she needs to change footwear before heading out suitable socks should already be in the walking shoes. As someone who is a bit older (66) and regularly hikes with a GHB, I've learned that footwear / foot care comes right after water on the list of priorities. Video like this are very helpful in giving people ideas and things to think about.

unless we are going to church the wife wears pretty reasonable footwear. she even has a favorite pair of merrells.

For winter emergencies, I would go with a vest that has lots of pockets, such as a fisherman's vest, instead of a backpack. I would also go with a size or two larger, woman's, fleece-lined, hooded raincoat to wear over that vest. Ideally, the raincoat would be in a darker color such as navy, forest green or charcoal to not attract attention. Wearing this raincoat over the vest would look like the wearer was not carrying supplies. It would also add bulk and make the wearer appear overweight and perhaps less attractive to male sexual predators. I would also want that raincoat to have a roomy side pocket, fastened with Velcro, that was slit on the inside so the wearer could reach inside for a holstered pistol. The wearer of the raincoat would not appear to be armed but would be able to effectively end any human or wild animal threat that approached too closely. Another raincoat pocket would be large enough to hold her smart phone. I would have the woman keep all of this, except the holstered pistol and the smart phone, in the trunk of the vehicle that she uses to commute to work or in her office. She would of course have a concealed carry permit and wear her pistol concealed at all times when outside her home. A pistol in the hands of a woman who knows how to use it and is willing to use it is a great equalizer against a much larger, threatening man or two. Two shots center mass will take the threat right out of a predator. To put inside the vest pockets, I would go a with a smaller rolled up water bladder on a lanyard, a sillcock key, a folded N95 face mask, a Mylar sheet, a head lamp, spare batteries for the headlamp, one ace bandage to wrap a sprained ankle, one day of feminine hygiene supplies, one or two spare magazines loaded with hollow points, a trial size under arm deodorant (it is hard to hide from the bad guys if they can smell you), a charging cord for her smart phone, clear goggles to protect her eyes from low hanging branches when walking at night, a butane lighter, a spare pair of socks, one pair of gloves or mittens and about $500 in paper cash distributed among the vest pockets and under the insoles of her walking shoes. There should also be room in the vest to hold her ID cards, credit cards and debit card. I would also want the woman to have a boot knife with a sheath that could strap around a leg with Velcro straps. And the woman would be in the habit of wearing walking shoes and trousers or hiking pants loose enough to conceal the boot knife or would keep these items handy in her office or vehicle's trunk. I would not bother with adding food to the vest. Most people can go a few days without food without any ill effects so long as they have drinking water and can stay dry and warm enough. It would also be good if the woman had in the trunk of her vehicle or in her office a cheap shoulder bag/purse that contained nothing of value (old wallet with expired credit cards, packet of facial tissue, old tube of lipstick, old pack of chewing gum...) that could be carried during an emergency and sacrificed to a mugger/robber. And if her vehicle would not start, the raincoat and the vest with assorted supplies/gear should be enough for walking a few miles in cold, rainy weather at night to get to a place of safety where she could then use that $500 (if the credit card system was not working) to pay for transportation or a motel room or a meal or to pay the bill for a long distance call from the motel room telephone.

As a female, I would suggest a small hand sanitizer for the "sanitation" bag. My local Dollar General usually had the pen type sanitizer that should fit in the bag. Depending on age, maybe add some femine products. I added the tape to my bag after seeing it in your previous videos. Thanks for another great video.

A well thought out kit! I just recently did one for my wife, but quite different from yours. Since she only works a mile from the house, I set her up with a fanny pack. It was quite challenging to pare down her essential items to fit a much smaller form factor but it's light and quick to access as I have it slung on the back of the passenger seat in her car.
@renaissancemarinetv353610 ай бұрын
that sounds really well thought out. you should do a video on it.

How about shelter? Gore Tex Bivy, poncho(stretched over bank line), lightweight titanium tent spikes, bank line and 2 trash bags to fill with leaves would keep her off of the ground and a little bit sheltered.

Awesome organization. What is the brand of those zipper clear bags ?
My wife rarely has pockets, like much of woman's clothing. The lanyards are a good idea if you want her to carry anything ok n body.

First, good video presentation and GHB! Was wondering if your wife inputs about the contents of her GHB? When we developed my GF’s GHB, she wanted to participate in the choosing of gear for the bag. The organizer bags seem to be fairly slick. Does the marker rub off of them? If so, I wonder if hairspray or some thing similar sprayed over the marker would keep it from rubbing off? I’ll have to look into that
@renaissancemarinetv353610 ай бұрын
sharpie does NOT rub off them. im sure if i plan to reuse them and change the writing i could with some alcohol or somesuch.

relax francis. it wont fall apart in a couple days. its a get home bag, not an AT bag.
