As a dairy scientist I have to kindly disagree with your chart at 6:31, if the five listed dairy products are being made from milk coming from conventional farms and Holstein cows (>98% of the milk produced in the US). Holsteins are bred to produce high milk yields: over 20,000 lbs/year (the average dairy cow in the 1950s produced around 5,000 lbs/year). Holsteins are consuming a diet primarily of beet pulp, corn silage and soybean meal (not to mention rBST and antibiotics). Milk from Holsteins these days is depleted of C15:0 and fatty acids in general (with the exception of C16, C18 and C18:1). There are better dairy sources (milk from grass-fed sheep or Jerseys) for C15:0, however, they are not likely to be found in dairy products you can get at your local grocery store.

This is the problem with our food source land or ocean, even when we look at farm to fork we get it wrong most of the time. Then you also have to account for the bioavailability to our body from that source. In the end I recommend eat as healthy as you can and supplement to cover your basis
@JulianMeier19684 ай бұрын
@@michael-qp9xd Given the sheer volume of scientific publications across the globe that are coming out on the numerous health benefits that C15:0 offers, I would supplement. It is the probably the most consistent and efficient way to maintain levels in you body. For people opting for other sources, look for dairy from organic and grass-fed Jersey or Guernsey cows from a local, small-scale farm. If you have access to a specialty cheese shop look for Evora or Serra da Estrela (Portugual), Ossau-Iraty (France), Roncal (Spain), the various Pecorinos (Italy) or Ogleshield (England). These cheeses have higher levels of C15:0 than dairy from your conventional grocery store. Unfortunately, they also have high levels of less desirable even-chanined fatty acids and the question, of course, is whether you want to be consuming dairy fat to that extent if you’re not as physically active as the sheep herders who are walking up and down the side of mountains all day long?

@@TheVisserPodcast The C15 content of cheeses is dependent on various factors. For the higher % of C15, apart from the name of the cheese, you should always look for cheese made from raw milk from goat and sheep, in particular. The animals should be always grass-fed. @@michael-qp9xd Hello. Thank you for your interest. The reality is that you don’t need a list. I don’t have a list and I will not put together a list. Why? Because the components of food, and in particular milk, varied according to the season, the weather, the sun and the grass the animals eat. Much better than a list is your perception about what to look for. For cheeses always read the labels and look for these facts: 1) Grass-fed animals. 2) Made from raw milk. 3) Produce only with animal rennet. (Do not consume cheeses coagulated with “vegetable rennet”. Here is the label of a high-quality sheep’s cheese: Ingredients: Unpasteurized sheep's milk, Salt, Rennet (from lamb), Bacterial culture. Cheeses made this way, would always have a variable high amount of C15. NOTE: Real rennet comes from the stomach of the animal. Vegetable rennet, in contrast, also called microbial enzymes, is a man-made substitute using GMO material and the main manufacturer is Pfizer.

Limit your alcohol consumption, too, because it’s not good for your liver. Iron chelation therapy: This medication removes extra iron from your body. It’s taken by mouth at home or injected into the blood by a healthcare provider. Therapeutic phlebotomy: This procedure uses a needle and tube to remove blood, and the iron it contains, from your body. Treatment needs to be repeated frequently, so you’ll have regular blood tests to measure iron levels. And yes definitely try C-15

Would Chelation therapy to get rid of metals in the body also help? Thanks for your work.
@TheVisserPodcast5 ай бұрын
Removing heavy metals from the body, a process known as detoxification, can be challenging and often requires medical intervention, especially in cases of significant exposure. Here are some scientifically supported methods: 1. Chelation Therapy Chelation therapy involves the administration of chelating agents that bind to heavy metals and help remove them from the body through urine. Common chelating agents include: • EDTA (Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid): Effective for lead and other heavy metals. • DMSA (Dimercaptosuccinic acid): Used for lead, mercury, and arsenic. • DMPS (2,3-Dimercapto-1-propanesulfonic acid): Effective for mercury and arsenic. 2. Dietary Interventions Certain foods and nutrients can help support the body’s natural detoxification processes: • Fiber: Foods high in fiber, like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, can help bind heavy metals and promote their excretion through the digestive tract. • Sulfur-rich foods: Garlic, onions, and cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts) can support detoxification pathways. • Cilantro and Chlorella: Some studies suggest that these may help reduce heavy metal levels, though more research is needed. • Antioxidants: Vitamins C and E, selenium, and zinc can help protect cells from oxidative damage caused by heavy metals. 3. Hydration Drinking plenty of water can help support kidney function and the elimination of toxins through urine.

effects seem like iron overload disease, hemochromatosis
@TheVisserPodcast5 ай бұрын
Key Differences • Nature: Ferroptosis is a cellular process involving iron-dependent cell death, while hemochromatosis is a systemic disorder involving iron overload. • Cause: Ferroptosis is caused by oxidative stress and lipid peroxidation within cells, whereas hemochromatosis is primarily due to genetic mutations leading to excessive iron absorption. • Impact: Ferroptosis affects individual cells and is implicated in various diseases, whereas hemochromatosis affects the entire body and leads to iron deposition in multiple organs. • Treatment: Managing ferroptosis involves regulating iron levels and antioxidant defenses within cells. Hemochromatosis treatment focuses on reducing iron levels in the body, often through phlebotomy (blood removal) or chelation therapy. Understanding these differences is crucial for diagnosing and treating conditions related to iron metabolism effectively.

If you read the recent studies on IL-11, and lowering its expression to boost lifespan. What they all overlooked is IL-11 expression increases in relation to age related iron overload. That the body increases its expression to prevent iron loving viruses and bacteria from proliferating. Restoring normal iron transport and cell storage lowers IL-11 expression by default. You should see if C15 lowers IL-11 expression over time via iron metabolism stabilisation.

@TheVisserPodcast4 ай бұрын
For individuals with alpha thalassemia trait, nutritional management generally focuses on maintaining overall health and addressing mild anemia. Key dietary considerations include: • Iron Balance: While people with alpha thalassemia trait typically do not require iron supplementation, it’s essential to avoid iron deficiency anemia, which can complicate the condition. • Folic Acid: Folic acid is important for the production of red blood cells and is often recommended to support overall blood health. • Balanced Diet: A diet rich in vitamins and minerals supports overall health and can help manage symptoms of mild anemia. Recommendations for C15:0 Intake While there are no specific guidelines for C15:0 intake for people with alpha thalassemia trait, incorporating sources of this fatty acid as part of a balanced diet might offer general health benefits. Here are a few steps to consider: • Moderation: Include foods rich in C15:0, such as full-fat dairy products and certain fish, in moderation. • Diverse Diet: Ensure a varied diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. • Consult Healthcare Providers: Always consult with healthcare providers or a registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet, especially if you have a genetic condition like alpha thalassemia trait. In summary, while C15:0 might offer general health benefits, there are no specific requirements or guidelines for its intake for individuals with alpha thalassemia trait. Focusing on a balanced and nutritious diet, tailored to your overall health needs, is the best approach.

@@TheVisserPodcast So, just because the machine is so complicated it can't be fixed? Bullshit. Grass fed, grass finished, organic, bullshit.

I call absolute overhype on all this c15 miracle substance stuff and if you want to at least watch an expert in deciphering research and what it really does mean check out Physionic video on the stuff and you might just save your money. Just my opinion but this smelt like mainly a clever marketing campaign from the start preying on peoples hope that a new wonder substance be discovered that will help just about anything

Watch Dr Brad Stanfield's video on C15 and you may change your mind

He pulls the plug too early on C15:0 he’s not all knowing esp in this field! And he has his his own line of vitamins which he heavily promotes with each episode that aires. I’m cautiously optimistic on C15:0 and I personally will use it

So you can buy fatty15 scam for $120 or buy the same amount for $25 as 1kg of goats cheese and get a lot more nutrients with it

Yes but you have to question the bioavailability, and source of product
@zenrand6885 ай бұрын
As far as butter goes, you need butter from grass fed cows to maximize the good fats.
@TheVisserPodcast4 ай бұрын
The bioavailability of your source is still poor so i would still supplement

He said c15 has only a double bond. I stopped watching the podcast. C15:0 IS REAL NAME. (0 ) IN THE NAME MEANS ZERO DOUBLE BONDS. 0MENAS

Yes you are correct that was my bad, the point still remains though that it supposedly strengthens the cell walls

Thanks for catching that, didn’t even know I said that - my bad

Buddy, why take so much time talking about what you're going to talk about instead of talking about it? Your inability to get to the point is maddening.

We are not dolphins 😂. It is just a cash grab on something thats new and shiny. People will buy anything if you present it well.

“True, we’re not dolphins-but we’re not birds either, and yet we learned to fly. Progress isn’t about mimicking; it’s about innovating. Stick around, you might just learn something new!”

@ and how does this apply to nutrition? You are free to pay and put useless stuff into your body but it your comment doesn’t change the fact that its useless for humans.

Talks about health ... does he know how unhealthy tattoos are?
@TheVisserPodcast5 ай бұрын
Yeah but I love them, in life you have to evaluate decisions you make and it’s almost never black and white (I’m only talking within the moral compass). I do extreme sports, ride fast motorcycles, etc because thats where i connect to the source. My tattoo’s are about my life and my heritage - being an Islander. On the other hand, there are things that have a far greater positive impact on your health that everyone should do! Resistance training 4 times a week heavy - VO2 max training 3 times a week and I eat as healthy as I can without being a prima-donna about it and that will get me to the 90 year atlete goal The most important three basic things you can do for yourself bar none the rest is just fine tuning. Don’t be afraid go out there and live life to the fullest have s blast make a difference be kind and loving - big hug
