The Uganda People’s Defence Forces has officially retired the former Chief of Military Intelligence, Lieutenant General Henry Tumukunde from the army. Lt. General Tumukunde served in a number of senior positions in the force. Some of them were the position of army Member of Parliament and Chief of Personnel and Administration. In 2003, He fell out with the President for publicly speaking out against the removal of presidential term limits. He was subsequently put under house arrest and court-martialed. The ceremony held at the army headquarters in Mbuya was presided over by the Chief of Defence Forces, General Katumba Wamala. Other officers were also promoted at the function.
