6:08 - 6:38 ... I remember a Congressman from California being quoted as saying that 'if people don't know what their rights are, how can they know what they're giving up?' One thing I had to experience the hard way growing up; being nice to a bully won't get you preferential treatment from them. 'Sometimes', you just have to find a way to knock them down, literally OR proverbially.

That first one... FUCKING HELL, that first one is alone made me sympathize. When I was working for UPS as a package handler, imagine my surprise that when I'd clean up my area and KEEP it clean, guess who gets asked to go and help other people? Certainly me who apparently did such a good job he had to go and fix other people's messes instead of getting the 'good job',. All it did was mean 'you clearly must not be busy' even if that same event you have me going to makes my station unclean and shit. Honestly, whoever does, or forces other people to do, that shit has clearly never met a normal working person in their life or selfish assholes. Good God, and they have to wonder why the turnover rate is same damn high or the people who DO work there are doing the bare minimum. IT'S BECAUSE YOU DON'T HANDLE YOUR WORKERS WELL, _UPS,_ who'd have thought.

I worked in correctional medicine and one BIG thing I noticed was that a lot of people who claim to be compassionate, want to see others succeed, and attend religious services regularly don’t practice what they preach. People view incarcerated people as animals in cages no matter the reason and they don’t believe that “those people” deserve empathy or any assistance. Incarcerated people are people, and honestly I feel safer in prisons than I do in local emergencies rooms. I also learned that the most dangerous people are not the ones in the jumpsuit, they are people who have the money, connections, and resources to cover their actions.

I coined a term "origami soldier." They look like a great soldiers;their PT scores are maxed, they have taken every correspondence course, there is no target that can hide from their rifle, but they have no leadership skills in a bad situation. So they look great from a hire up's perspective, their promotion packet looks phenomenal, so they get promoted, but if you put any pressure on them, and they will fold just like origami. People can die when these people get promoted.

Drugs and or alcohol are a major factor in 99% of crimes. Almost all crime is the result of addicts trying to feed their addiction or are in an altered mental state because of it.
I was army.. I only thank the veterans from Vietnam. Im sure that as long as we have them and after they will be the only ones that i thank. They were treated like shit AND they actually were all real heros. They had chemicals dumped on their heads, had to be the first victims of women and child bombers. The families of these vets disowned them, they would get beaten up, cussed out. When they first came back they had shit thrown at them straight away. And now some of these vets have had more than 10 recurrences of different cancers, the man I looked up to was one of them (My uncle is why I wanted to join, so he could know its different for vets now) They deserve an apology and our deepest gratitude that no other other group of service men has earned before. If the American people get that disgusting to them again then maybe I'll give younger vets more thanks but until then

The first one is exactly why I tell people to give your job ONLY 60%. That way, if you have to go "above and beyond" you easily can and everything will think you've had a good day. But if you go in and give it 100% from the start, that will be your baseline expectation at all times and if you have an off day it immediately gets noticed.

@@mr.nemesis6442 How could a guy flying an unarmed helicopter with the Red Cross on it, kill babies: he was shot at by an old man with a musket. That old man shot at my dad every single time he flew over but no-one killed him, at least not our side. The pilots loved that ballsy old man and only ever blew up his hooch (lean-to that keeps the rain off of the old guy's face) and they called that crazy, mad as a bull man Rice Paddy Charlie. Funny, my dad's name was Charlie (Chuck) and he said that when that prick was shooting at you, you made it back to base. After being a police officer I realized that law enforcement is a very mechanistic process and that once started is very difficult to stop. I learned this when investigating an allegation of rape that I was certain was false and it took divine intervention to keep the case from going forward. (for the Woke, yes, only a minority of rape allegations are false but they do happen).
@bryanemilius16062 жыл бұрын
My cousin was accused of rape. He didn’t do it, which I know because I was with him at the time of the crime. Turns out it was his best friend, who looked and sounded almost exactly like him.

Rape allegations are awful when they're false. I had a friend at work who was a mutual friend with one of my female friends and a third separate guy accused the guy friend of raping the female friend based off a joke that didn't even give out any intention that that was what happened. The guy denied it, the girl denied it, and management still believed the guy who made the accusation and mentally abused my guy friend to the point where he'd broken down into tears many times at work.

I seriously wonder just what woke means. I'm a socialist, does that mean I'm woke? But I know some r*pe claims are false. In my opinion, as long as the claim, or the falsity of it, can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt and wasn't made under duress, and with some other exceptions I'm not going to go into detail on for brevity's sake, both the base crime and a false accusation should be punished the same way. And frankly I think that punishment should be the death penalty. I know that's not popular with some folks, but I don't care. If people are going to casually hurt other in profound and lasting ways, they shouldn't be allowed to keep doing it, whether that's an adult seriously abusing a child or multiple children, a person r*ping women one after the other, or someone who thinks a good way of dealing with people they don't like or who won't do what they want is to make an accusation that could utterly ruin their target's life and that also harms actual victims who now get ignored and accused of lying. The sort of person who would commit those crimes generally isn't going to stop, they will almost never truly realize that what they're doing is wrong and they have no right to do it. If I thought some counseling would help, I'd advocate for that instead. But I'm not going to give a predator carte blanche to go after more victims when it was virtually inevitable they'd do so just because I have more heart than sense. (I also think that everyone smart and sane enough to not shoot people for stupid reasons or let their kids shoot people should own a gun and know how to use it. Probably not a typical left-wing belief, but it seems socialists are more likely to believe that that kind of power belongs in the hands of the people than a typical liberal would.)

@@amberkat8147 You didn't have to tell me you were a Socialist. I would have known at any rate. I've never met a Socialist who wouldn't use 10,000 words when 10 would do. I was a Field Artillery Battery Commander. Every individual gives up his freedom and is virtually owned by the government during his/her service. Every individual is integral to the success of the mission. An individual may not join for patriotic reasons but by the time they leave most are very patriotic and dedicated to country. “For want of a nail, the shoe was lost. For want of a shoe, the horse was lost. For want of a horse, the rider was lost. For want of a rider, the battle was lost. Even the stable boy fulfilled an important role in the military.

That military bases are tiny utopian experiments. After a while, you find that sort of unity with people from all corners of your country and are truly struggling to accomplish a mission together. I am now neither truly right nor left politically because of it, seeing that sort of unification in a middle ground. It also made me an excellent problem solver, as at times the only guidance I was given was to ‘figure it out’.
