Thanks a lot, your video answers my questions. Giant is too lame to describe the features and possibilities oft their Ridecontrol device. I prefer to use an Elemnt Computer with the 2020 build in Ridecontrol one device, and now know that it's possible. Thanks a lot! You should be payed from Ginat for this viedeo!

Hey, thanks! It's true, I emailed a couple of stores and distributors, some didn't have any answers about compatibility, but some got back to me that it should be possible, although no instructions were provided by anyone. Well it's possible but it's not perfect, I have been testing some workarounds with speed and distance and unfortunately so far with no luck. For example I tried to use Garmin speed sensor over ANT+ simultaneously with the Ride Control One ANT+ 2020, but the result was that Wahoo Elemnt was only using the E-bike sensor. So I emailed Wahoo with a feature request to add sensor priority so the user can choose which sensor should have priority over the other. Hope they consider it.

the stock Ridecontrol Ergo switch on my 2021 Trance E+ shows as ANT+ compatible on the Giant website, both for the bike specs/Brochure and if you purchased the Ergo switch separately? so on paper it appears an upgrade switch is not required?? So it's odd that an upgrade switch is offered on their gear listings, yet apparently not required? I am currently trying to get this confusion sorted out with local giant dealer. Hoping all I need to do is buy an ANT+ display.

Im using the Wahoo Element Bolt with the Ride Control on 2021 Giant Fathom E+ 2. The Bolt freezes after about 10 miles and has to be rebooted losing the ride data. I have installed all the latest firmwares and freed up as much memory as possible on the Bolt. When it is working the data is well off the scale on auto and I have yet to get a full test ride on wheel size/crank size set up. Anyone having luck with the set up. Bolt connected via ANT+. Thanks

I have noticed similar behavior with the Elemnt freezing when using navigation, after restart it would try to recover the ride but it takes minutes out of the ride. I have reported it to Wahoo but I don't think I have liked it to having the Giant ebike connected. Please report this bug to Wahoo, maybe you get a case number, I can do another test with and without turn by turn navigation on.

I thought that my distance data being multiple times higher than on Strava after recalculation might have something to do with me using a 2020 controller with a 2019 bike but... No idea why I have ok speed but completely wrong distance. I suggested to Wahoo to implement an option to be able to force GPS as distance measurement even when speed sensor is connected. Or be able to connect a separate speed sensor that should have priority over e-bike ant profile, but not sure if they implemented anything. You can also suggest this, maybe they will consider of more people report it.

I’ve reported to Wahoo and they have advised to ensure latest firmware downloaded then to record next ride on device and a separate device such as Apple Watch and then report back with photos etc if device crashes again.

@@xavierbikes Actually yes and no. It doesn't seem to be crashing anymore although I have stopped relying on it as my Apple Watch works better. The distance etc is still well off so I now use the app on my iPhone to monitor battery/range and watch for overall data.

Hey, those bikes before 2018 use different electronics from those 2019 and 2020 models, but I'm sure you can find a display for 2017 models, just double check the compatibility first.

One question left: When I only use the iPhone app, displays the app the heart range zone or only the heartrate itself?

Do you mean the Ride Control App? Hmm, I have only tested the 2019 Ride Control with the app over bluetooth and android, but it would only work with one device at a time, so I couldn't send HR both to the Wahoo and the app at the same time... But I think the app only shows you the HR in number format.
