I purchased powerstop pads from paragon, just strictly to cut down on brake dust, I don’t track at all, so I can’t comment on that, but brake dust is virtually eliminated, very happy with them. Nice video, keep up the great work guys!

I took my 23’ Z51 to the Daytona Rolex course last October. I installed the Carbotech XP10’s on both the front and back, using the stock rotors. I bought them direct from Carbotech. Their tech support was great. After 2 days of hard driving in multiple sessions, the XP10s did very well. After listening to your discussions regarding the need for high temp brake fluid, I will make that change for the 2024 season!

Great Video and content on brakes! I was surprised to hear that the Z06 only came with regular brake fluid, and that it too needed to be changed out for high temp fluid if tracking? Why would GM not put high temp brake fluid in all Z06's from factory given that this is advertised as their "Track" car?

A few months back I did the Level 2 Advanced Track Days school at Spring Mountain, and we were toasting the rotors constantly. 2-piece rotors will help, but the real issue is the rotors aren't large enough for the weight & speed of the C8. Wilwood now offers a brake upgrade kit with a 15" rotor that should hold up much better for track use, but it's pricey (~$4800 per axle).

Hey Rick, if I'm lucky, maybe you'll get to shoot some footage of Chuck doing the "OEM Plus Light" installation of the Power Stop Brake Rotors and Pads that I had delivered to your dealership from Paragon Performance on my C8 Stingray along with the side rockers from ACS. It could make a good follow-up to this video while showcasing the benefits of having these types of upgrades installed pre-delivery by your team as part of the PDI process.

I think I would rather upgrade to a larger set all the way around. This way I would have a larger surface area, plus larger calipers and pads with more clamping power. Holding off until standard replacement calipers, rotors and pads are available for the Z06 and ZR1 then just up grade everything.

Nice job, guys. But you missed it on the brake hoses. You can spend a ton of good money on brakes and fluid for the track and ruin your whole day with factory hoses. Heat kills them. Like all the products in your brake line. Do another tech update on the hoses. Heat and pressure kills them. Thanks, and I appreciate the video. 👍👍😊

Carbotech is a Z51 or Z06 pad only, for a base model car, you can go wtih the Power stop pads. We don't have base model rotors at this time.

What does this do for my Chevy warranty on my braking system? If I change both pads and rotors? ‘
@joegotz19716 ай бұрын
Brakes and pads are not under warranty. Mostly because a lot of people drive with right foot on the gas and the left constantly on the brakes.

So we have a 2014 Corvette stingray non-Z51. Can I upgrade to the Z51 rotors? Obviously I have the standard four piston, floating calipers. Our Corvette is a daily driver, but occasionally we drive aggressive and enjoy spirited driving. We currently have 49,000 miles on the odometer. I have replaced the pads with carbon ceramics. 25,000 miles ago. Even though the stock Brembo pads still had more than 50% life. Keep in mind that I did not replace my rotors. Unfortunately, now I’m experiencing a brake shutter at high speeds. During street driving under 50 miles an hour there is no shutter until I drive freeway speeds. That’s why I’d like to upgrade to a Z51 rotor.

For street driving, we've seen zero issues with wear when compairing to the factory pads. However you CAN'T track on these pads like the factory ones.

Why would anyone get Carbon Ceramics and want to upgrade? Or are “we” addressing the people with the standard Brakes? I have Z51 and yes I do hate the dust!!! Is that the reason to switch? I don’t plan to track any of the C8s. Still waiting for ZO6 allocation, but do I want to spend $150-160,000 on a ZO6 at age 69 and not in great health? I guess I’ll keep the power washer in a convenient location to clean off the Brake Dust even though the wheels were Ceramic Coated!

*Antelope* not Antilope. Nevertheless, those Powerstop rotors look cheap in my humble opinion. Visible tooling marks are generally indicative of poor quality and this seems to be reflected in the price. In my professional opinion, brakes are the _LAST_ place you should be attempting to save money. Tires and brakes are literally thee most important parts of *_any_* vehicle. Everything else is secondary. I will die on this hill. Stay classy my friends.
