Great sharing, Wojtek ! Now I can follow your tutorial to ‘upgrade’ the cooling effects of my intercooler …

Thanks Great Video. 2017 A4 B9 Using Bluedriver to monitor the intake temps. 0 to 60 runs intake temps hit 138F noticeable loss of power. Same day after removing that cover temps never exceeded 96F. There was a noticeable consistency in power at higher speeds. Car is otherwise absolutely stock. Thx

That's great I managed to do it, It was a bit hard to remove it without lifting the car but I had to remove more screws right under the bumper in order to free it. After driving I didn't notice much difference but I'm sure you will have less heat soak under intensive driving. Thank you for the video!

In humid climates, thats supposed to prevent condensation inside the intercooler. So prevent water droplets from forming, and then going into the intake. 99% chance u will be fine. A few videos on youtube about it. (Focus RS)

About to this now! Helpful video man. Edit: it took much longer than I expected. You made it look so much easier lol. What I did though is I used a screw driver with my left hand to pry the bottom piece while I was pulling it upwards with my right hand.

Yes its kinda tricky the lower part of the plastic grabs the intercooler and the whole trick is to release it from the bottom then pull up. Glad i could help 😊

Yes. Both stage 1 and especially stage 2 it is recommended you get a true performance intercooler. The stock unit isn’t good, even with this cover removed. There’s a lot of power left on the table when a performance intercooler isn’t being used

There's a reason why Audi blocks off part of the intercooler on the smaller 2.0T engines. It has absolutely nothing to do with decreasing performance. Some people clearly don't understand intercoolers.
@eastcostzen78873 жыл бұрын
I think the technical reason is for colder climates? (not sure if I am 100% correct on that). Those reading from what i understand it's for a cooler climate (north america). With the blockoff plate removed your cooling the air too much (ice, moisture, etc.) and caused issues when in colder climates with A/F.
