In today's video, I will show you how to replace the PCV valve on a 2017 Audi A4 B9 2.0 TFSI EA888.3 This process should be similar to all the Gen. 3 2.0 TSI engines.

Thanks for the video! Why did you replace the part? Did you have a rough idle or overpressure in the valve cover?

Hi, ive seen a lot of people do the blow test on these. Do you know can it still be faulty even if it passes the blow test? Did you notice much difference in how the car drove/ more power after it was replaced. My car is very sluggish at liw revs and struggles to get up steep hills

I dont know if it can be still faulty after passing the blow test. The difference in driving was very minor after the replacement. Biggest difference for me was idle RPM being more stable. In your case, I would search for miss fires / fuel injectors / fuel quality / turbo issues etc. How many miles on your car?

Nice. Where does the assembly send the oil that it separates from the PCV output? Does it drip back onto the valve train? Is there any reason to add a catch can, if the engine already has this oil separator?

I think it goes back to the intake manifold. People add catch cans to 2.0Tfsi with 450hp+ but I don't know if it is really necessary

It sends it back into the intake manifold which can lead to the intake valves and manifold to get clogged with carbon buildup. A catch can is very useful but not mandatory for near stock cars.

you dont need to change out the whole pcv assembly, i just replace the pcv diaphragm with round plastic cover piece that comes with new pcv diaphragm

I’ve seen torn diaphragm and broken plastic inside of these things. Might be best to replace the whole thing

@@haseebm4875 broken plastic? i seen torn cut up round diaphragm rubber piece but never heard or seen broken plastic housing 😆 if the pcv housing is broken of course u gotta replace it but what im saying u dont need to if its not broken .. if its all gunked up than just clean it good and pop in a new fresh diaphragm thats it thats what i been doing for 7yrs on the same Audi and never had one issue

Nope just the idle was a little raw and a lot of surge when opening the oil cap with engine running

ich tausche sie ungefähr alle 60000km. Gibt der Hersteller von dem Teil so an. knapp 120€ mit allem was dazugehört & selbst getauscht.
