Upgrade your Chronarch/Curado 50e gears to a 7.0.1 ratio.

What's happening everyone! Today I bring you a quick and simple solution to upgrade your Shimano Chronarch 50e or Curado 50e from a 6.4.1 gear ratio to a 7.0.1 gear ratio. This will get you 3" more in line retrieve with each full rotation of your handle. Great for those faster moving baits you want to cover water with.

I own all shimano reels, super easy to work on! That one little piece with the fins is the anti reverse pawl and is what shimano calls super stopper. I remove all mine and it makes them smoother. Actually if you buy a JDM reel they don't even put that piece in. Great video that's going to help many people out! Thanks For sharing!

Used the Chronarch with stock bearings and Curado E series with Boca bearings and they both cast nice. I think I like the newer shimanos with the svs infinity brakes.

Nice video but I'd prefer the new gear be brass and not aluminum, ...as the gear teeth are harder, less likely to strip and wear less over time. The slight weight difference is not going to matter in the long run,...but the durability will. :-)

I'm not sure if the mechanics are the same or not, I would assume they are, but I can't say for certain. I'd do some research first before you try it.

I have the 50e so I'll probably do the swap with that reel... I always said that I wish they made a 50e7... but this seems like just the way to go... How much did the parts run u for just the gear ratio upgrade? and how has it treated you?

Eduardo Valenzuela I think in total parts was like 50$ maybe less. So far no issues at all it's been perfect.
