I worked at GameStop for a bit 14 years ago. I was able to make my ultimate GBA SP when I worked there, starting with a clean NES style GBA SP and swapping internals with a AGS-101.

The Gameboy Advanced SP was my first video game handheld I've ever played on, i used to play with it all day long, it was the 2nd version and the shell was dark gray color. I still have it till this day so I'm definitely buying one of these batteries.

Awesome room! My favorite variant color was the standard old cobalt blue. Although the flame and platinum silver always looked cool to me too. :) I might get one of these. But I'll hold out until my battery dies. Sometimes the chargers cables die out before the battery - and just need to be replaced. That's what happened to me a few years ago. I see you used a multi-cable, and it worked well!

I noticed a lot of Game boy advance SP videos have white batteries and a lot of them have blue batteries so I'm curious what the difference is?

Walked in to toys r us back in like 2003 or 2004 and they had the classic cobalt blue one. Still have that bad boy. Following that I have 2 blue Ds, one is a lite and a sapphire edition see through blue 2ds. My first gameboy was a hand me down from my sister. An atomic purple GB color

That's pretty neat since the battery of my GBA Sp hasn't age very well in fact it only last for 25 minutes.before it shuts off This Megabat 800mAh Battery is what I was looking for since those generic GBA sp batteries in my experience last about a year and that's it. So I'll take a look this one.

The NES version was pretty nice. I hadn't thought about replacing the battery in my SP but it would make sense. I just replaced the battery in the WIi U controller and it isn't nearly as old.

I still have my NES edition GBA SP, but man the screen leaves a lot to be desired. Is there a way to replace the screen without messing up the case?

just a heads up, i just recently got this from retro modding and the battery length was fixed, so you dont have to worry about the spacer anymore

Higher quality control mainly. The cheap Chinese no name brand batteries frequently will test for far below the stated capacity while the megabat will always be the stated capacity or higher. They're made by a well known Gameboy modded named Helder.

Those cheap ones only have an actual capacity of about 400-600mah where helders are always between 800-900mah

Mine works fine, like I say my major concern is whether or not the battery has charge or discharge protection circuitry built into it. I reached out to Stone Age Gamer and they already responded this morning. They are going to forward my charge/discharge concerns to them and get some more details.

I definitely need some of those batteries, and that USB charger, since I have so many of these proprietary chargers around. My favorite model is the NES one, but if I use an SP, I prefer to play on the brighter 101.

I'd say the silver SP. The DSi and 3DS uses the same connector also the "DSi connector" is a Gameboy Micro.

The Game boy micro and the DS lite use a different connector But they look very similar to each other and then the DSi through all the way up use The same connector And lastly the Game boy advance SP and the original model DS use the same charger including the fact that the headphone adapter will work in an a DS. Edit: I forgot to say that the Nintendo DSi all the way up to "New" 2DS charger looks similar to the Wii U gamepad charger but it's not just like how the DS light and the Game boy micro look like they use the same charger. I have no idea why Nintendo had to use a different charging plug for every single system f them.
