I tried the 2.5 turbo and the 2.2 diesel. I LOVED the low down torque of the diesel and bought it, in Touring. Yes the petrol turbo is a bit faster but you have to thrash it to get there. Most of my driving is around the 2000 to 3000rpm range which is where the diesel shines. Just have to do a longer drive every now and then to keep the engine sweet. Great reviews BTW

Mazda has by far the best interiors of the mass produced mainstream cars.

Another nice review 👍 we have owned our GT CX5 SkyActiv diesel since April 2017 and we love it 😍. Plenty of torque although the previous model with lower outputs loves to rev and now is nice and quiet . Love the usual Mazda good stuff handling steering breaking and overall feel and responsiveness . But our biggest love is the interior it looks and feels great . Everyone that has sat in our car can’t believed it is a Mazda and the cost - the all expect it to be more expensive. For me we do a fair amount of regular highway driving so it is a no contest it’s diesel all the way. However if Mazda was to drop the 2,5 SkyActiv petrol engine under the bonnet like they have recently done with the Mazda6 that would be a very nice car and a difficult decision ❤️😊

Hi guys, i'm confused with the car in your review. I just got myself a 2018 cx-5 touring diesel and it doesn't have projected driving display. It has the plastic flap instead. Mine is a January built so I thought maybe because it's old built. But then I looked around and found 2018 cx-5 touring August built and it has the same plastic flap. How latest was the car you tested in the video? And also, is the price for diesel really under 42k? Because the sleazy Mazda dealer told me different numbers between 44 to 47k.

Hi Kera Sakti - thanks for your comments! I believe the cars with the upgraded screen projected HUD came to Australia around the middle of the year. Perhaps that August built car was one of the last ones with the older HUD? The car we tested was supplied by Mazda Australia and was one of the latest versions. Also, the prices we quote in our reviews are list prices (ie, the price excluding dealer delivery and on-road costs) as final costs can vary from state to state due to different dealer and government charges. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

@@BRRRRMAustralia Ah I see. Thank you very much for replying. Everything makes sense now. When I asked the dealer about the active driving display, they did not mention or say that the projected one is available on brand new CX-5 touring. They could have suggested this to me and I would have thought twice about getting the old built. At that time, I assumed that all 2018 touring model get the older HUD and only the GT and Akera get the projected display.

Infotainment let's it down massively. My phones almost as big as the screen.
