Does it matter where you start and what direction you go when applying the LED strips to the back of the TV?? For whatever reason The app isn't giving me that corner selection part of the calibration setup.

I'd have to check the instructions, but I think it's "Supposed" to run clockwise (when you're looking at the TV) around the TV. there might be some settings to change that in the calibration. Not sure why you wouldn't have the corner calibration step.

I have a question, does the control box have IR? Do you have to manually turn it on when you turn the TV on or use the app on your phone? I have a programable remote, and can send any sort of command like power, but only if it accepts ir?

it doesn't seem to have IR, but the Home Assistant integration could be used to toggle the power.

Does the backlight turn on automatically when you turn on the TV or do you have to turn on the backlight yourself every time? Thanks

You'd need to turn on the Nanoleaf yourself as there's no HDMI connection for CEC or anything to signal the TV has been turned on That said, if you've got a smart TV, you might be able to use Home Assistant to discover when the TV has been turned on, and then trigger an Automation to turn on the Nanoleaf, and the opposite when the TV turns off, so it's a solvable problem.

Great video nanoleaf app is so bad I have all the light bulbs and they are so great how they all look the same is great for outdoor settings looks professional but the app is bad you have to pick a thread network in the app now for the devices and updates are always nail biting experience i always look for app updates. Nanoleaf products are so expensive it’s a shame the app isn’t as good. The Aqara FP2 got a AI update and I have removed all my interference zones now and have only area zones with the aqara FP2 doing all the AI to find people and objects and I have it outside and it’s amazing 😃

I found the FP2 on Aliexpress it’s was around $100 Australian I thought it would be about what JB hifi sell it for so I jumped on it and think it’s worth a hundred but that’s about it

I have Nanoleaf lights that don’t require internet, wtf is this Wi-Fi required nonsense? Why in the world is this thing connecting to the internet, is what I really want to know

I'm on board with being frustrated at requiring internet to setup lights. This is where projects like Tasmota, WLED, and Hyperion become worth the effort, removing reliance on the cloud
