Thank you for posting these videos. Bought the same one for a 2004 4Runner. Instructions were clear and easy to do process. Only problem I ran into was the key didn’t fit were you have to press the pin into the fob. Had to drill it out. Works great though.

Thanks for your 3 videos. Got everything up and running today in my 2008 4runner. Hardest part was getting the little pin in the key and fob. Programming chip and fob were both super easy. I did write down the steps as I watched your video before I tried it. Worked out first try. Thanks!

PROGRAM CHIP: * Close door * Original key - insert 5 times and remove (keep in last time) * Open and close door 6 times * Remove the key and see solid red light by AC * Insert new key - let the red light blink for around 1 minute (or more) * When stops blinking, take out NEW key * Insert original key and put in ON position. And turn off * Insert new key and see if it starts PROGRAM REMOTE FOB: * Close door * Original key in and out * Open door and leave open * Original key in and out twice * Close and open door twice * Original key in and out once * Close and open twice (leave open on last time) * Insert original key and leave it * Close door * Turn the key to ON and back to LOCK * Remove the key and the locks should cycle lock and unlock * New key - Hold down lock and unlock for about 3 seconds * Press lock button * Open the door and close it * Check the buttons to make sure it works

It's a little fiddley you have to tap it in with a small hammer. Some needle nose pliers might help you

@@erniedg I had trouble getting the pin back as well. I filed the groove on the blank down with some sandpaper a little bit at a time until it fit, still really snug. I also took my key to get made at the toyota dealer. It was 12 dollars and had to show my registration, ID card, etc to verify I owned the vehicle.

@@erniedg Same thing happened to me. I went through the steps again, this time written down and it worked. My problem is the panic button presses easily so I keep accidentally hitting it and the horn blasts until I can stop it.

The back window button programs automatically like the other 3 buttons (lock, unlock, and alarm). If your window isn't rolling down, then use the button on the dash to roll the window down and up. The button on the FOB only works when the window is all the way up. Sometimes you have to roll the rear window down and up with the button on your dash to make sure it is seated all the way up. When the window is all the way up, the button on the FOB should roll it down like normal. This applies to the factory FOB too.

You have to tap it with a hammer or something similar. Can hold it with needle nose pliers while you do

Does anyone know how to get the roll pin out? My local locksmith needs me to separate the blade from the housing. Reading through the comments it sounds like I just need to tap it out with a hammer? But I am hoping for someone to confirm that so that I don’t destroy my new key.

Yes just tap it out. A hammer might be overkill. You need to find something about the diameter of the pin or a tad smaller and use that to drive the pin out

With mine the rolling pin would not be fit and the key hole had to be filed down in order for the pin 2 slide into place.

I live in houston and went to Robbie's key and lock. But anywhere that cuts house keys or any sort of keys can cut it for you! Thanks for watching

This is not a plug and play, you have to have the dealer or a locksmith cut the blade.

@@TheLansang it does not I have 2 of them from when I bought the car. I just got this key because I thought it was cool. If you Google you will see that it does not shut it. However by sticking the key in and turning clockwise it will shit the window.
