The Road Glide bars and risers do work. I have a 2017 Road King with RG bars...they fit fine. I bought used, stock RG risers from Ebay, and it all fits fine.

I believe the Road King Special’s bars are 1 1/4”. That clamp would definitely work under the cover.

I'm really interested in seeing how you eliminate the accessory light bar. I've wanted to clean up the front of the bike without completely eliminating the passing lights. Looking forward to seeing the next video!

I am planing to use the same light housing that is on an ultra limited. I'm not certain how I'll make the wiring work, but I'll figure it out. I have already eliminated the lollipop light in the rear. Since recording this video I have added a lighted license plate holder that covers the holes in the fender

I like my Road King. I wouldn't mind adding a Street Glide to my collection for road trips

I use my Road Glide for long distance trips. The Road King isn't set up for that kind of riding

I believe that you can get the light bar for the Road glide or Street glide and it will bolt up to the holes. We did it on my buddies 99 King. I’m sure it should work for yours as well. I do believe you can use the plate holder with that as well.

Thank you. That is the plan. Only downside is the set that I have is black. I'd prefer chrome, but my goal is to use some of these old parts that I have in my garage.

You can get a clamp set for the larger diameter bars. Right from Harley

Well ummm, my 2016 RGU has a heel shifter and I have never had an issue with anything on the shifter. But to your point, if you don't know how to use it, then best to remove it. I am looking forward to more on this Road King. I am looking to buy one within the year.

My mods will be fairly simple. Primary reason for getting this bike is for rodeos and local riding. I'm not planning to do anything radical with it.

Great video Cue. You are doing a lot to that thing. You were almost better off getting a Road King Special 😆 Also, you sure liked that heel shifter after your incident at Daytona bike week! I always replace the linkage with something heavier and put the stock one in the saddle bag just in case. You can try and beat me in the slow race, but I’m only getting better! Haha good stuff brother!

This is my 2 cents...With this RK do something different...Instead of making it a modern bagger like everybody else...My it a Old School Bagger which is easier on the pocket Book and something different than everybody else...Side note...You could easily change those wheels to some Drag Specialities Chrome Spoke Wheels...Easy fit and with no mods and availability...

My goal with this bike is to spend the least amount of money possible by reusing parts that I have in my garage. I will primarily use this bike for riding local and motorcycle rodeos. I don't plan to use it for long distance rides. Another priority is to remove the police specific items from the bike. I am not a police officer, I feel that it's disrespectful to have those parts on my bike. This bike will look pretty basic....nothing flashy
