Upgrades unlocked on the Big Turbo MK4 1.8t

The Big Turbo MK4 1.8T GLI has had some changes. We swapped out the Precision 6262 for a Garrett Gen2 GTX3071 to suite the owners needs a bit more. We've also added an AEM water/meth injection kit to help with our terrible 91oct fuel. These changes should result in a complete different feeling car on the street.

When mixing a 50/50 water meth blend people usually measure it out by weighing it as the methanol is ''lighter'' than water. That way you 'supposedly' get a pure 50/50 blend

I will weigh today to see what the real differences are. I suspect the difference will be negligible. Either way, I've been mixing it this way for 15 years and it works great. The key is that it's tuned for it. Appreciate the insight.

Surely swapping the inlet for a BAM version would allow you to get rid of the ghastly inter cooler pipes going over the engine and make for a better free flowing setup? I know you guys are limited with your fuel unlike the UK where we have 99Ron (and Europe too) but you should see some gains. As you guys didn’t get the Seat Cupra R with the 225Bam, you’d need one from the TT instead.

If you don't replace this crappy exhaust manifold with a Tubular one , you'll never gonna make serious power! Also you need camshafts! You can use the N/A 20V 1.8 camshafts (ADR , AGN head code) I m a specialist in 1.8T , and i tune them too ..

Have you guys worked with FFE turbo kits? Their 0.63 AR 50 trim 1.8t kit looks appealing to me, I am looking for 300 whp on an OTS 630cc file. Would this kit do that? Thank you

Sure, but it would basically only be used for cooling. E85 is very good at suppressing knock so ethanol isn't going to help much there.

some impressive meth distribution dave. "you said yank on it" What size jet did you go with? Also gosh dangit when testing mine i had the line pull outa the pushlock i got a face full of 50-50 meth, it burned and wasnt enjoyable.

IN THE FACE!!!!!!! lol Went with the largest nozzle right out of the gate. AEMs kit with the new V3 nozzles comes with a decent chart based on boost and power goals. I'm just pulling fuel out of the map where needed.

It all depends on the setup, power goals, boost levels, and fuel.

You definitely can, and I'd much rather it that way. Problem is it ends up being near twice as much doing a proper port injection setup.

@@buddysshop1860 cost yes. 5 nozzles, check valves fittings opposed to 1 is substantially different on cost. Not to mention having to pull the intake manifold and drilling tapping or welding bungs on each runner, plus reinstallation.

It's under the blinker fluid reservoir. :) East coast Canada, but ship all over.

All depends on parts required, manufacture preference, and power goals. That's a very broad question really.

@@ryanmefford4849 the engine (long block) itself doesn't need much for your power goals. If your 350 crank HP then it really doesn't need anything. WHP different story. Drop us an email and we can set you up with whats needed.
