Feels like the epoxy coat will give it more of a spring hit when the ball bounces on it. I covered a backgammon board and it made the dice always go crazy compared to the original surface.

Great paint job... a couple of pegs screwed into the underside that fit into the dog holes would do wonders for having it square every time you lower it, and prevent it from sliding off the workbench if someone bumps it accidentally

Great build! Next you need to do that liquid paint style where they pool the colors on top of each other and then tilt the surface to make it flow and create those nice smooshes.

Love the project, John. May I suggest looking into forged rigging hardware such as what we use in the theater for flying scenery? You can get it at RoseBrand and other places. It’s a little bit more than the stuff at HD, but you can trust their load ratings (especially for dynamic loads) a great deal more than the cheap imported stuff from the box stores.

I second that! I'd also feel way safer attaching the mounting points on the table with through bolts and lock nuts instead of wood screws 🙂 Whenever we hang wooden scenery at the theatre I work at we use heavy duty eye bolts that are one solid ring, so they can't open. That also a great option!

This project is very cool. My dad and I used to play tons of ping ping, and he always talked about doing something like this with our table, but we never got a chance to. It was cool seeing Jordan again. I think the video where you post army is one of the dust collection videos. Not 100 percent sure, but I think that's it.

You can get 5x10 sheets. We get them at work for putting p-lam on it for wall panels. I work at Cushing Millwork. There's a website for it as well. We do a lot of commercial work we're schools hospitals we're even doing a apartment building in Las Vegas all the kitchen cabinets and vanities .
