Air duster is SO worth it for sure. I went with the Metro DataVac a couple years ago, not having to be so conservative with the amount I use when cleaning important pc shit was reason enough to pick one up. Common duster gases include hydrocarbons, like butane, propane, and isobutane, and fluorocarbons like 1,1-difluoroethane, 1,1,1-trifluoroethane, or 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane which are used because of their lower flammability."

Interesting about the crazy power density of AMD 7nm parts. I've actually observed prime95 to be one of the gentler thermal loads on my 5950X - my custom loop can keep temps down to 72C even at like 225W power draw, but running some 4-core workloads, or pinning a big compute VM to one ccd while I game on the remaining one, it will basically find a way to hit whatever the thermal limit is set to. I dropped the limit down to 85C because watching it hit 90 all the time makes me uncomfortable.

@@billzorn7324 Out of curiosity i ran prime 95 with the same settings as on the video on my 10900k at 5ghz on custom loop (on a hot day, 28° in the room, water at 33 and stable). The hottest core doesn't go beyond 84° at 285W. It's actually a good comparison between monolithic and chiplet, as well as transistor density when it comes down to cooling.
@billzorn73243 жыл бұрын
@@ledoynier3694 Interesting. I wonder what prime would hit on my loop if I dropped the current limits and let PBO use 285W. Kind of makes me want to make some plots of different power outputs, hotspot temps, and top of IHS temps to understand the thermal efficiency for different platforms. I feel like I could push more power into my old i7 7820X at 4.9GHz all core (something like 300W) and not see temps above 90, but I haven't played with it in a while. AVX512 prime would still easily hit 95-100, even though the chip is delidded and on a custom loop. Those old Intel parts have no brakes, unlike AMD with PBO.

Call me shook on his system not being stable Lmaoo. My 9800X is stable all core 4.7Ghz, ugh idk how he deals with that. Should have just gone X series and noctua cooling and call it a day with a nice BDie kit. My kit hits 4000 Cl16 1.5V also with tight timings

I didn't reset the HWinfo monitoring so the Y cruncher run is still showing power draw from past tests.

So you obviously didn't bother to read the guide I posted in the comments of your last video (which you have subsequently taken down) where you managed to "overclock" identical hardware to mine to a score over 600 Points less in CineBench R20 with your 3950X. Without overclocking and staying completely within specs - thus not voiding the warranty or degrading the CPU - running the 3950X with SMT Off I achieved a score of 7,856. Fuck it, I am not going to link again to the guide I wrote almost a year and a half ago in March 2020 on the AMD Red Team site on how to configure 3rd (and now 4th) Gen Ryzen, because that would obviously be a complete waste of time and effort.

Radeon VIIs are as far as I'm concerned not repairable. I strongly suspect the interposer fails on pretty much all the ones that are listed as dead.
