Upgrading my BSA Goldstar 650 to 2024 spec...

My very own BSA Goldstar has now been upgraded to 2024 specification thanks to Tim at MidlifeClassics for the brilliant service.

Picture quality was superb here. I have to give it to them, this bsa service/recall is pretty good, and a free service to boot. Yes that's not bad at all, helped by a decent dealer. That's the way it should be 🎉🎉

Yes, it might be light at the end of the tunnel for some with problems. For me it just a bit more peace of mind when I'm away that the thing won't conk out 😂

My Gold Star 650 is a very early one, it was registered in December 2022, it has been off the road for quite some time due to a health issue of mine, it hasn't even done enough milage for it's first service yet. It looks like I might get my first service done for free with this "health check".

Strictly speaking you should have it every year but yes you'll be able to have a first service either free or at much reduced rate. And you get a free package of extras. Get well soon too 🙏

Just a follow up on your comment to me about my Gold Star and i appreciate your advice but I've had enough of BSA and their crappy customer service so I've today negotiated a deal with my local Kawasaki dealer for a Eliminator SE 500. It's an ex demo bike with just 29 miles on the clock so that's limited my loss. By the way they never even asked if it had received those recent heath checks.

Hi Ian, I just wanted to give you a heads up that Stuart Fillingham has taken your story and published a video on it... without mincing any words it has to be said. In fairness he did say you should contact him to provide evidence if you can and he will make another video with your side etc. He also said you were trying to trade in against a z650 not an Eliminator but I don't recall maybe that was your first choice. Anyway, I just wanted to say to give you a chance to respond.

I did but they dropped them to my house afterwards as I rode to the dealership. So I didn't include them in the original vlog 😊

As you know I bought my Gold Star on the 1st of March 2023 and I've heard nothing about these upgrades, how did you learn about them as its all news to me.

If you have not had an e mail from the Importer, contact your local BSA dealer and they will sort you out.

Straight onto the dealer Ian they will get you booked in. By the way even if you are still selling your bike you'd probably find it easier to sell if the failure items are replaced. If I was buying I would want to know this had been done having learnt what it entails...

I've just spoken to my ex BSA dealer and he told me that BSA are marketing it as an upgrade to the 24 spec. In his opinion that's over egging it what their doing is giving them a heath check to see if those problems are relevant to your bike because although he sold over 70 bikes initially just an odd one needed updating.
