They all sound great...but damn, the G12M Greenbacks just have a certain sweetness to them that make them the speaker everything else is compared to. Nicely done!
@adamwatson6916 Жыл бұрын
Agree but I think the Creamback M65 also has that sweetness but a little bit smoother. For some it's too smooth and they like the extra bit of bite with the M25. I like both each has their perfect place. Mixing the M25 and M65 together is where it's at . Smooth but not too smooth.

The Creamback H is heavily influenced by the old G12H30 Greenbacks which gives it a Greenback flavor .

@@MangoMeoww Yeah I have the 401 cab, it only has one speaker, and the amp has a lot of low end and fizzy highs so a Creamback should take care of that. Eventually I'll get an SV20h with 2x greenbacks, maybe one creamback for a mix. It's been 15 years, I can justify a second amp :) I'll use it as a cab so I can spread out the cost of the mini Plexi.

I have my 4x12 cab loaded with two Greenbacks and two vintage G12H30 speakers with the lower frequency cones. Has a lot of body and a lot of bite. My Marshall 2x12 has a Warehouse Speakers ET-65 (like a G12H clone) and a Warehouse Retro 30 (similar to a Celestion Vintage 30). But in my Vox AC30, it has to be Celestion Alnico Blues. Essential part of that Vox sound. I've played AC30s that have Celestion Vintage 30 speakers, and it sounds and responds completely differently. Speakers are almost like an instrument in their own right.

I love the sound of the Greenback, it cuts so well. But being 25W means you always need either a full 4x12 cab, or to blend it with a higher rated speaker whenever you're using a 100W head. Creambacks sound great too, though a little scooped. The Marshall Vintage, by comparison, sounds muffled, like the presence knob was dialled waaay back. I would love to see the comparison of the blends; Vintage + Greenback, Vintage + Creamback, Creamback + Greenback.

H Creambacks have become my go-to speaker recently in my DSL40, because they just do everything. - if I'm playing only high-gain then I'll probably fit a Classic Lead 80/an original 1986 T-75 (the old white label with no magnet vent) - if I'm playing only clean to mid-gain i.e. 70's style rock, I'll use a Marshall Heritage, or a H30 Anniversary if I can get away with a lower power amp - if I'll be playing a mixture of both, the H Creamback is capable of sounding just as good in all situations, especially if you're thoughtful with your pedal setup and amp channels. They really can't be beaten for versatility without compromising on sounding good A quick word on the T-75s, if you do want to give them another chance, you're more likely to have a better time with one of the original white label versions that came with the '80s JCM800 cabs (pre JCM900 before they went black label and then the modern black/white), they're a lot less hairy than the modern made speakers. Saying that, an SD-1 and a 5150 probably isn't the best way to compliment a T-75, they go better with Marshalls or a Mesa Boogie Mark with the 240Hz band scooped rather than 750Hz. I boost mine with a Blues Driver and a Mesa 5-band eq pedal. Also it's nice to see Guitar Mania getting some worldwide appreciation - I'm lucky enough that they're my local guitar shop, and the team in there really know their stuff, my Marshall label Creamback came from them.

Is that just the Boss Overdrive into that Marshall giving you that sound??? Is the Marshall a stock 50 watt Plexi and was it modified is it just the Boss into a stock Plexi??? Sounds amazing for the 80s sound you are going for.

Guitar speakers are so important to the sound. The first speaker i ever used was the Celestion V Style wich comes inside the Marshall DSL 40 combo and sounds really bad in my opinion. I swapped it to a Vintage 30 and that amp just came to life. After that I bought a harley benton 2x12 with vintage 30s in it. It aounded a bit harsh in the high end, so i swapped one speaker to a creamback, wich made it Sound a lot better. A few months ago I also bought a laney 4x12 wich is loaded with laney custom HH speakers. It sounds absolutely increadible and definetly better than my 2x12 with celestion speakers. I think just the fact that there are more speakers already makes a huge difference, at least when hearing it in the room. Also when micing speakers I have noticed that even if you have two of the same speakers, like 2 V30s, they do sound a bit different. Maybe you can compare that in a video aswell
Nice Comparison! I'm curious if you've ever gotten you hands on the Marshall Celestion Heritage G12H speaker? I see them come in the JVM combos and extension cabs but I've seen almost no direct comparisons of that with other speakers and few demos of it all. I'm really curious how they compare to the Marshall G12 Vintage.

That is a Greenback with a heavy magnet. Compared to the regular Greenback it is more scooped sounding with bigger, tighter bass.

Can't help it but V30 just works for heavier music. Also greenbacks have this nice "chuck" while playing, like strings are a bit sticky. I have 4x12 cab and been thinking about replacing speakers so I can change between different speaker sounds. Is there a point or benefit soundwise leaving like 2x same speaker, or should I just straight put 4 different speakers and switch/mix between them?

There’s a reason I keep going back to Vintage 30s. Great comparison!

Creamback sounds like it'd be perfect in a mix, greenback might be better for a live show but debatable. Creamback wins by a lot for me.

Hey Euge. Nice choice on the CB-M75! My personal favorite so im biased. Recently, people X-Pattern V30's and CB's. Lastly, and I hate to be "that guy" but the 80s T-75's are better. Similar to the Chinese vs UK V30's argument. Love your vids as always man! \mm/ Thanks for the JCM800 tone tips :)

Hi Sir! Have you tried a masa 412 cabinet? I know speakers make a difference, but what about the cabs? I have heard so many good things about the mesa, what is your opinion? Is it worth the price? It is double the Marshall 412!

Yeah I’ve recorded a few albums with one. Cyhra’s first and second albums being the latest ones. It does the job just fine but mostly I use Marshalls.

Hi, Do you have a video on how you connect your Amps to cabs and the switcher you use? Also I have the same boss SD1. it introduces a lot of noise into the signal chain. Do you use something like a decimator within your rig as it's very quiet? Thanks.😊
