What type of worker would wear these boots? What type of environment are they meant to be worn. I'm an old guy who is a noob for boots like these...and have never seen anything like them before, Fascinating...turn out great! Awesome!

I wear them when welding and just in case something heavy falls on the top of my foot.

I’m work for a grading/underground outfit, and I’m thinking of getting a pair. The reason being is the wacker, some people call it a jumping jack, ramer or tamper. That thing could really fuck your foot up.

quick question JK Boots... is the inner sole leather softer than a midsole, or is the leather the same?
@jkbootsusa6 ай бұрын
The insole and midsole are the same oak tanned leather!

@@jkbootsusa thanks for the answer, i love the craft and made three pairs of boots myself so far, but the sole bend i got is rock hard and stiff and with only a thin layer of cork between insole and mid, steel shank then heel block and solid Dainite rubber heel block they feel like walking on concrete, so wasn't sure, if i should use some softer leather for the insole

Those are beautiful! I'm pretty tired of buying boots each year only to be disappointed with the quality, fit, longevity, crappy liners, blisters etc from Redwings, Carolinas, Double H etc.. we have to have metguards in my line of work. I discovered JK because of an interest in logging, firewood, tree work so now I may have also bought my last pair of boots, well if they last 12 more years or if I do anyway!

what is that toe puff made off?

Just curious. Why did you sand away the sole as you showed?
@jessiehorne6 ай бұрын
That is known a logger heel profile. They sand it like that to remove material which lightens the weight of the raised heel. Why do people like logger heels it is for the additional ankle support, especially when negotiating uneven or mixed terrain, and definitely when going uphill. The raised heel also gives additional arch support, which is needed when doing heavy outdoor work as the arch functions more or less as the shock absorber of the foot. These boots mostly originally used by forestry workers especially wildland firefighters so the aforementioned ankle and arch support is well enjoyed/desired by them. Not to say other trades can not enjoy them as well. Interesting fact the only difference between the JK Fire Inlander and the JK Superduty is the name. Some people are more likely to buy a non fire related boot hence the name Super Duties

@@jessiehorne I meant the outsole by the toe.

The soles fit a range of sizes, so the excess it trimmed off, then smoothed with the sander

@@davidbornick531Ah that .. That removes any dust or sanding debris when it used on the bottom of the boot is a burnishing brush not a sander wheel. When they finish burnishing the side of the boot (leather sole stack) they hit the bottom of the boots briefly to remove any leather/rubber dust stuck in the bottom of the boot

Why not removable?

they would be sliding if you ask me, which would make them rather dangerous
