Great video thanks !!! Only thing I would disagree on is the rear triangle still being alum. Every time you go thru the slightness suspension movement you feel the difference so that, (like the carbon wheels), you feel thousands of times on every ride. Not a heavyness thing per se.... Carbon rear suspension would be as important as carbon wheels and (then it would be great to keep the swingarm alum). Then, ultimate wheels ? Spinergy carbon wheels with pbo spokes specifically built for ebikes (on their website.) They would probably give you a set to test on an ebike because they are heavily marketing to them. I can tell you after 30 years racing and riding mtb on Spinergy's they make a really huge difference for your ride. No not a salesperson just really really good with bicycle ergonomics. Again, every revolution.....🚲😁

Thank you for the view! For the rear triangle I think To the average rider (such as myself) it’ll be hard to determine a major difference in terms of performance gain. I think that also applies to wheels.. but to an experienced rider/racer, when speeds reach a certain level the need for direct input becomes increasingly important! Hopefully that makes sense. I’ll have to check out spinergy wheels!

Love your videos. I just purchased the new Giant Trance Advanced X. Looking at increasing the travel of the rear shock from 140mm. How do I know what shocks will fit? Both your recommendations and Nates build seem to be different sizes. I'm looking at getting the rear shock travel to 160mm.

Thank you for the love! I am not sure if you can go 160mm without clearance issues.. I will be at sea otter next week and i'll ask giant and report back!

Did your friend stay with a 150mm fork or did he bump up to 160mm when he put on the Lyrik?

I just recently got the Stage 1 version of this bike. It’s a great bike and some killer deals to be had right now. I swapped out the dropper for a Rockshox Reverb AXS and added a better seat and grips. Other than that, it’s ready to go right out of the box. When the tires wear a little, I will add something a little beefier, which this bike absolutely needs.

I assume you went 160mm fork on both upgrades? The Onyx only comes in 160+ so that's a given. With the shock, did you go 185x55 for a little more travel in the back too or stick with the 185x52.5 for 140mm travel? Just hit go on the exact bike and excited to get modding.

Did you and your friend stick with the stock, 150mm fork travel or did you move up at all? I have the Elite 2 and I am thinking of moving to 160mm. I love everything about the bike so far.

You can purchase an air sleeve for the fox fork. Increasing the stock travel from 150mm to 160mm. Its only $70 instead of a new fork. I'm having my dealer install it. This will also slacker the head tube angle slightly.
