The X also has more and faster ram. I’ll upgrade my ally when they get an APU THAT IS 50% faster and upgrade to an 8inch bazelless display.

Absolutely! That is what I'm doing. I have a larger 140w power bank that I can use next to the ally. I also have a smaller 65w power bank that I strap to my ally with a special backplate with kickstand and strap. It's nice

Laughs in 2280 4tb. Seriously now, I have a Legion Go like device with 32gb/4Tb and it is basically a PC when docked (I've yet to buy a eGPU but that is next on my lost) and for general tasks there is basically 0 difference from a regular Notebook.

the ally X is better because of the gpu having 8gb of vram thanks to the 24gb ram it has while the normal ally might struggle in newer titles due to only having 16gb of ram so certain games will be worse on the normal ally vs ally X

The RAM won't help it that much, at the end of the day its the same CPU/GPU powering it and both will struggle down the line.

Yeah, even though that RAM also acts as the VRAM, it's not like you are gaming at 4k high settings, so the capacity won't matter much. But it is faster RAM which is one if the reasons it gets a few more FPS.

@@Dan-Simms yes it kinda does newer titles are having issues with the ram buffer being too small due to the ally using 4 or more gb of ram from the system for the gpu
