The black you see in the box is black spray paint from the port… the smoke was from a voice coil…if you push on the center of the subs and if they move freely they’re good but if they’re sticky or stuck they are toast (those are dual voice coil subs so they can be “halfway” toasted with a single fried voice coil and still play)… you need to use ALL of the screw holes in the subs so that they seal in the box and your sound quality and volume will increase… when you turned it could have jarred a sub loose causing the loss in sound. 💯

Bro, you should get some massive audio 15s. They really do the audio right as far as the base. But you would definitely need some bigger wires, for those and an extra battery

Press on the front of the speaker to push the springs in if you hear a scratching sound that means that speaker is bad bro

Get you some of them gothic subs fro. Walmart them good there 4 ohm dvc if you run both subs at 2ohm you have a 1ohm load at the amp.

We got the Box Chevy you going to need your system to be right with that being said you going to want to run zero gauge wire to the battery and to ground it out also you going to get a second battery and some fuses you going to need them also upgrade your alternator me I run two alternators that way you have one mainly for your car and the second alternator for your audio equipment and then go get you a Class D amp in a class A B amp the class A we will run Your mids and highs and class D will run your subwoofers Amy personally cuz I'm a bass head got to have at least 4-12 if not too powerful 15s and also I need to seal your trunk the rubber trim that alines your trunk to the car to keep water out and moisture also to keep the pressure on the trunk for the bass
