@pablodelgado7919 Жыл бұрын
@@Alex-vz2jz That seems to always be the case. 9 out of 10 2nd gen Eclipses you see in junkyards are F&F Replicas, which is a shame one because they're amazing cars if kept clean and unmolested yet at the same time it doesn't surprise me that most of the Eclipses that meet this fate is either due to rust, blown engines due to the owners being absolutely negligent for most of the time or unfinished projects that somehow failed. But for the few that i've seen over the years they have good parts for use as long rust hasn't already destroyed it.

Love the junkyard videos! Would love to know the backstories from some of the more interesting cars in there, why they ended up there, if only cars could speak eh… Junkyards are called scrapyards over here in the UK, sadly with ever increasing health and safety rules the days of wandering around picking parts yourself are mostly long gone, you have to ask at the counter for what you want and only if it’s worth their while they’ll pull it for you…not helpful when you just need odd bits here and there or even to measure up parts from other models for example. Love the vids, sending big love from UK 🇬🇧

It looks like a lot of them are sadly just victims of Midwest winters

I'm in Belgium, and same thing, here the days of taking stuff off yourself are done, and therefore the prices are also absolutely not interesting anymore, it often comes up that brand new stuff is barely more expensive or even cheaper... If you need anything that you can't really get new, either you search for someone parting out their car, or look for online junkyards, often coming from countries that aren't as crazy when it comes to pricing.

That eclipse is a RS. The GSX and GST had a higher spoiler and I doubt anyone would take those stickers off. The engine is a 420a, you can tell because the cam pulleys aren't under the hood bump. The 4g63 needed extra clearance. Pretty much the same reason I junked mine back in the day, it's a Chrysler.

As you may can imagine, rust is mostly on the worst parts to weld, always the wrong tool ready because of the one screw, that you have not seen, tools break, nuts go round or the missing 3th hand is not availeble to help you install some part. And working on tanks is als not that easy!!. Seeing you still smiling during working in mudd, with wet feets, working in rain with no umbrella or so and still - never angry is in my opinion the best for your mental health.
