RockTrooper My mileage has actually started to go down. I installed the Airaid, a throttle body spacer and a Flowmaster cat-back system, I can definitely feel a difference in power but my mileage is going to crap! I average 12-13mpg, sometimes 14 if I'm lucky.

Nice video. That is not an O2 sensor though. That is an IAT sensor (Intake Air Temp). The O2's are in the exhaust.

Thanks for the feedback. To me, the sound is perfect as you only really hear it during acceleration and it is a deep sound. During highway speeds there is NO droning sound like other CAIs.

Question John, I was trying to purchase this off of R2C's website and I didn't see a option to purchase both filters. Just one or the other, how did you purchase them? I can't see any retailer that sells the filters by themselves. Also, how is yours holding up? Thanks for all your videos and help!

Daniel Kmetz actually you can call them directly and order the kit and the extra filter. I can tell you the heavy duty filter works great when riding in the really dusty areas. Each time I take it out to the desert I use that filter. The setup has held up perfectly, not a single issue and no complaints. The sound is great with a nice rumble during acceleration and there is no "droning" sound at highway speeds. Let them know you saw it on my channel. Hope this helps!

ratled1 yes I would, for a few reasons. The interchangeable filters really allow me to change out depending on the location. The heavy duty filter kept out the finer dust from sandy and dusty locations in SoCal and in Moab. I did see an improvement in gas mileage, even with the bigger tires and gearing. Those reasons alone, I would do it again.

Vx, first. Awesome icon! A fellow trooper! As far as the smog approval for us Californians, I am not sure. I know on my other a jeep when I added a CAI, it came with a smog legal sticker. I would say reach out to R2C and ask them if they have CARB approval. I kept my factory setup just in case I would need to replace for smog testing. Great thing with this setup is that you can easily go back to OEM if needed.

Hey RT! I've been enjoying the PowerStop kit! Thanks for that recommendation, but now I have a question.... I'm really interested in this CAI and I've called r2c and left a vmail about it. I've looked up the specs but I don't believe there have been any changes to the engine from 2015 to 2017... My JKU is a 17 but their CAI is listed up until 2015... It should fit right?

Tomasz Tyka thanks for the feedback on the Powerstop video. I’m glad it helped. I would suggest waiting for a response for confirmation from R2C before you purchase. I know Jeep likes to make small changes even within the same model year. I know it is still the same engine, however a small configuration change may throw everything off.

Why is your low pressure light flashing when your PSI was in the 40s? Is that because of the 37s?

Eric, it's a known item with the AEV Procal and updating the computer. I had reprogrammed it for my 5.13 gears and 37" tires and ever since I always get the low pressure warning. I could turn it off all together, but then I would not get the air pressure at all in the tires. Supposedly there is a fix available or in the works, but I gave up on it a while ago. I may revisit it to see if I just need to get the Procal updated with new firmware.

Hey Kevin, are you referring to the mass air flow sensor for the computer to adjust the air/fuel ratio? If so, there are plenty of tiers that will allow you to tune as needed, however for this install of the CAI, no tune was required. Does that answer your question? If not, let me know and specific details and I'll answer what I can.

No reprogram needed. I have been consistently getting low 18 mpg since I installed it, that is with 5.13 gears, 37" tires and all of the other weight I added.

rolando jatib seat of the pants increase yes, however I had not done a dyno before or after to say what an increase would have been if any. There was a bit more responsiveness when hitting the gas and the extra fuel mileage, so I consider it a win.
