***** Here is all my favorite settings list of both SDR and HDR ***** I tell you guys this Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 is very good monitor. But... You have to know how to work the options on the monitor itself to be able to get these visuals! But if you got the G7 Neo model then just try see if that good for you... This is very important settings with " Saturation " this give more color for to both SDR and HDR. Well, best settings is Saturation with 58 or 60 or 70. I use 70 for both SDR and HDR. Depending on which movies or games to run. See and test what is fit well best. Also important that " Local Dimming " to High or Auto. Sometimes better use with High and sometimes better use Auto, depend on. But you need use both High and Auto, However use often with High. If you like can use also with Low, but i never use Low. "Local Dimming" is important for both SDR and HDR. This thing has do with Mini-LED. You can change " Contrast Enhancer " On or Off, if you like it. " Black Equalizer " 13 is great but you can change from 9 to 16 or up to 20 if you like it. 9 to 16 is great " Contrast " with 75 and 80, 90 and 100 fine. You can change Gamma Mode 1 or 2 or 3. I use 1 and 2. Even you can change " Color Tone " I use Normal and Warm 1 and Natural. " Adaptive-Sync " is On this is good thing so you can use with G-Sync Compatible to enable if you wanna it. But make sure turn off V-Sync in game. If off G-Sync, you can use V-Sync. I don't use G-Sync due they are not support to all games also i don't need that. You can have " Adaptive-Sync " on and without use G-Sync and just enable V-Sync. If you turn off " Adaptive-Sync " You can use with " Response Time " and " Low Input Lag ". I don't use " Low Input Lag " Just keep on " Adaptive-Sync ". If you turn on " Adaptive-Sync " will work run with G-Sync or FreeSync. HDMI or DisplayPort both work to run with G-Sync or FreeSync. My " VRR Control " is On. Well better use with HDMI than DP. HDMI can get 12-bit color, with a lot color than 10-bit. But make sure set on output color depth 12-bit SDR in PC. This monitor model HDMI 2.1 get only 120Hz max at 4K. If guys wanna run with DisplayPort at 240 Hz but get only 10-bit color. This monitor support 12 bit color, That Amazing... If you run HDMI on PC and don't forget turn off HDMI audio in Nvidia Control Panel or in Sound Control Panel, If you wanna use from motherboard audio ports or PC sound card. If you have problem monitor like when is flickering or glitching or other just turn off power in OSD buttons then turn on power. If this not help then just restart PC in Windows. Then is all good again. I think DP is better than HDMI for that Samsung Neo Odyssey G8. Almost zero issues for flickering or nothing at all. I think HDMI got more issue. This is just small problem, not big deal. I did try only with PC Windows DP & HDMI. I don't know about with Consoles at HDMI if have problem with flickering or other. I did read from someone comment and he said about Scanlines problem.. =========================================================================== What i learned watching hours of reviews 240HZ = GAMING ONLY (Scanlines are not noticeable while gaming ) 120HZ = OFFICE WORK / VIDEO (Eliminates scanlines) *Get used to scaling your MONTIOR depending on the type of work you are doing. *SWITCH TO 240hz while GAMING * SWITCH TO 120hz while doing OFFICE WORK =========================================================================== You know that settings on SDR will have different settings save from HDR on, If you run HDR will have other settings save. So you can have two options SDR and HDR settings for saves. Great right? ---- Like Viktor say: You have to know how to work the options on the monitor itself to be able to get these visuals! @@SPXLabs yeah, I've heard the issue with 240 Hz is the 1.4 display port and need 2.0 to run 4k at 244hz. Even the 4090 doesn't have a 2.0 display port so the tech is still barely there

I just ordered the Neo G7, I can't wait to try it out. I know Samsung has QC issues, But there is really nothing else better on the market that works with consoles and pc. There is the Alienware monitor, But ultrawide displays don't work well with consoles.

@@abdulrhmanalharbi8176 اهلا وسهلا لاتوجد فيها اي مشاكل متوافق تماماً مع كروت شاشة AMD و GFORCE بغض النظر عن الهرتزيه الكبيره ومدى دقة الشاشه لعد اعجبني شيء يختلف عن بقية شاشات ال AV اللون الاسود كأنه OLED ليس حرفياً ولكن اللون الاسود في الالعاب في الافلام هائل ك mini led اما بالنسبة للدروب فريم هذا لايعتمد على الشاشه بل يعتمد على نوع كارت الشاشه وهل بأمكانه تشغيل 4k وبأطارات جيده عن نفسي انه لدي 2080ti وانا راضي جدا بأداء هذا الكارت ومدى توافقه مع الشاشه اما بالنسبه للكونسل لدي PS5 وانا اؤكد لك لن تحب شاشه 4K 32 INCH غير ال NEO G8

So far it's a pretty nice upgrade the only thing that really sucks is the ASUS monitor has 4 USB ports and this thing only has 2 :/ So I had to dust off an old USB hub to get it setup up with two computers.

I was very close to pulling the trigger on that Alienware monitor as well, however I really wanted to get some desk space back and the number of games that support 3440x1440p is few and far between (properly anyway). I've heard that QD is susceptible to screen burn in and mini LED may not be nearly as much as QD. In the end I figured if I was willing to spend $1200 I'd rather have the latest and greatest tech, sacrifice some USB and NVIDIA GSYNC Ultimate (Freesync Premium Pro is the same). But at the end of the day I don't think you could go wrong either way. As someone who streams from time to time it was just easier to stay within the 16:9 aspect ratio, because no streaming service supports 3440x1440p and I'm tired of having to always adjust settings to play a game just so people can see the game "normally". As in not squished or have the sides cut off.

I almost got that one it's 850 now, but it's 1440, I'm super paranoid a bout burn in, and it's ultra wide which for me is completely useless, I will be using it with my ps5 + laptop and I feel ultra wide, other than for some productivity tasks is largely gimicky still and not very well supported with games. Certainly not with a ps5. And now that I think about it, since it's oled, running the ps5 on it would cause the middle of the screen to degrade faster while the sides stay turned off. I found the G8 for 700 euro, but I'm pretty sure they made a mistake with the pricing. they quickly changed it back to 1150. And I really hope they don't screw me over. I'm kinda nervous I'm gonna get a mail apologising for the "confusion" offering me like 50 euro store credit and canceling my order lol

I'm not rich at all but I want to invest in a long term monitor. I'm currently using the Benq EW2440 launched in 2015 I think. As I have an Xbox Series X and I'm planing to purchase a PS5 as well, I want to get the best HDR possible, more than 60 hz and more than 1080p obviously. The IPS black leves are horrible, so it's why I'm looking for a VA or OLED panel. Aso I want to use the monitor for productivity on Windows 11 (working, navegate, videos, reading news, etc. not just gaming). The bad thing is that in Spain the Samung's are not so available and the new LG oled has not even come out. Also I heard that through this year more OLED monitors will come, but idk if it's true. The 27" LG OLED would be perfect for me becasue of dimensions, not being curved, HDR and color/contrast levels, but the risk of burning is so high for using every day during long hours for productivity. In the European Union it's 3 years of guarantee, but LG excludes the OLED burning "if you are using the monitor in a wrong way" (what's a wrong way for a monitor and how the hell would they know that?) I heard Samsung's VA panels for Odyssey neo G7 and G8 are close to OLED black levels but their size are pretty big for me. I don't know what to do. I play just on consoles, with 120 hz max they can perform, but the colors and contrast levels are the most important for me tbh.

Yes but the panel will still flicker. With my RTX 4090 is noticeable in poorly optimized games like Escape From Tarkov. But in other games it’s fine. I would not buy this monitor again.

Depends on what your expectations are. If you are okay with lower frame rates and lower graphics settings then yes. Honestly, I would avoid this monitor. When HDR is enabled and the frame rate drops, it does this weird flicker that can be very annoying. If I were you I would go with a different brand. Samsung dropped this product like a sack of rocks when it hit the market. Zero support.

I recently bought a Neo G8 and I'm going to return it. Coming from a 27" Gigabyte AD27QD 1440p144hz. It has awful scanlines at anything higher than 120hz, even manual "overclocks" at lower resolutions, 1080p 165hz, 1440p 144hz etc all got really visible scanlines. And I can clearly see them in everyday use and gaming, mainly UI elements and coloured text. After 5-6 hours use the screen starts to flicker and I have to let it cool down. A big no no in my book, I've never had a monitor start to flicker from long use. The grey uniformity on my one is absolutely atrocious, I can actually see lighter/darker patches on anything that isn't pure black or pure white., for example I was playing God of War Ragnarök and the blue sky had patches of different brightness/shades and it was not intentional. It's the worst I've seen. I've never had a curved display and I can see the ups and downs. I think I personally prefer a flat panel or maybe try a less aggressive curve. You say you still have the monitor, please put the monitor in 240hz mode OR 120hz mode with VRR Control turned On in the monitors settings. Do you have clear scanlines with specific colours such as blue, yellow, orange etc? You can clearly see them if you have your Windows colour set to the default blue and bring up the Volume OSD in windows, you can also see it with the colour picker screen in Personalise. I paid for a 240hz monitor yet using it in 120hz is the only viable option for me because those scanlines alone are so annoying...

I never noticed the scan lines until people started mentioning it to me and having to look it up. When at 240hz they are definitely noticeable now that I know what to look for. If you aren't happy then definitely return it! I think that is a great call. I'm not really sure how to describe my scanlines due to my color impairment. I think they are orange or red but I also don't remember when I saw them. I think at the Windows Desktop. But I have been playing at 120hz basically since I got it because my old GPU wasn't powerful enough for 4k and I only saw flickering at lower frame rates or drops in frames. Now with my 4090, I haven't seen any flickering at all ever. So it doesn't annoy me anymore.

I just don't like curves on any display, Especially for a 16:9 display. On an ultrawide I can see it being useful, But on a 32 inch screen, It's pointless for me, Plus Samsung has a really aggressive curve that I'm not a fan of.

Oh yeah, there are some monitor stands that don’t let you adjust the monitor at all. I’m not sure what you are asking about 100 bucks

Yeah... Setting the recording cam at ~ a 30deg of your view "center" line with a 1000R monitor? Not the smartest idea. All that i could see is a horrible picture on this monitor, at any setting you've placed it (Which i know its not, in reality!).

I cringed while you were assembling the thing. Bro who screws a monitor in while it's standing on it's stand esp one as flimsy as this.. lol.. the best I"ve seen so far was someone that had the screen in the box, and installed the stand while it was still seated in the foam. Safest way to install it and how I'll probably install it when I get mine lol Also bro.. I am 99% sure your backlight dimming wasn't turned on while you tried HDR... which is a must for hdr. Or maybe it was the angle of the camera. But man, maybe a smart idea to look up some videos of other people using the screen or figuring the screen out before you film everything haha. I appreciate the content but it's so awkard seeing you stumbnle through

Ehh I trust myself. Nothing bad happened anyway. That’s a good idea though, I’ll need to remember that for the future. I think it’s a combination of things, camera angel and lack of camera HDR support. Next monitor upgrade is in 5 years. We will see what changes for the next video.

@@SPXLabs How are you liking the monitor so far mate? I ordered mine yesterday, found it for an insane 700 euro as a black friday sale. I'm extremely hyped for it lol, only a bit worried because I'm pretty sure they made a pricing mistake. And I worry I'm gonna get an email in the next few days apologising for the inconvenience, telling me it was a mistake. A few hours after I ordered it they raised the price to 1150.

I think at that price you will be happy. Overall I am very happy with mine. But trying to keep 240hz and no flicker is tough. It will flicker anytime your frame rate drops very low. I am currently running at 120hz and it never flickers. Aside the flickering. I love thé monitor.
