World's First 4K 240Hz Gaming Monitor | 32" Samsung G8 Neo | First Impressions

Welcome back to the channel.
Today while getting ready to shoot some content on the Sony A90K OLED, I realized I had this monitor coming my way and so I decided to spearhead this video first.
This should set us up going forward for more content around making comparisons. Mini LED is a nice technology, certainly it can get bright!

Project Cars 2 on PC (Controller setup) with the 3090ti runs over 200hrz with all settings on ultra. Silky Smooth, I drive from the inside car view. Definitely worth a try.... Thank you for always putting out great content 👍

Picked this up yesterday. It's better than I thought it would be. I'm running it at 4K 240hz 8-bit SDR with scaling set at 300% on Windows. I don't see any scanlines, the pixel response seems fine, and the text is pretty good. I played SOTR with HDR on and the first time I booted the game up it looks good, but very soft. The second time I booted it up, it was much more vibrant. I don't use HDR unless I'm gaming. Right now, I don't have any regrets. About the box - I understand exactly what you are saying. However, I would rather have Samsung put their monitors in smaller boxes and spend less on packaging to keep costs down. I don't need Samsung trying to imitate Dell by including $100 worth of shipping materials with every monitor (including tabs to hold five box pieces in place :).

For VRR to work you need to lower the screen to 120hz bro. Can't wait for mine to arrive. Also will use it with a ps5 and my laptop. I wish it came with a small remote for the settings menu though, never been a fan of having to fiddle with buttons on a screen

Listen this is a great monitor for a reason. Finally you can get a 4k monitor with high hz. As you stated it means you don't have to settle. You can get 240hz regardless, so if you don't do 4k you can do 1440p. Or let's say what you use is only 60hz/60fps at least you can play 4k on this. Unlike buying a 1440p monitor and being stuck with 1440p. This opened up options. Like this is awesome you don't even need to be able to use it all to utilize 4k and then you get 1440p 240hz and 1080p 240hz. That's just amazing imo and its exactly what I've been waiting for. This way I don't have to settle with 1440p!

I've never let anybody else's opinions effect what I like or don't like. What I buy or don't buy. Most people on reddit go oh no gpu can do it what's the point. Well the point isn't to play 4k 240hz it's to be able to play 4k however much your gpu can handle. While now having the option to also use 1080p and 1440p at 240hz if you can. So you have the option to use 4k while also having the option to use higher hz/fps while in other resolutions instead of being limited to only 120hz even if in 1080p or 1440p like you would be on other 4k monitors.

I was looking into this but I got burned twice with Samsung monitors but it does look good. I just wish it wasn't an led or curved screen as I need to downgrade to more of a minimalistic lifestyle and I need a monitor/tv that I could use for work and gaming. So I went with the LG 42". I just love OLEDs, I can't seem to deviate from them. LOL. Great video BTW!

Nice vid dude, thank you. But that made me wonder about pixel density. I went from a 1080p 24" monitor to a 1440p 32" monitor and have a 58" 4k Tv, and wondered about pixel density and made the calculations to them. Basically i had 91,79 PPI on the 24" monitor, retained the exact 91,79 on the new 32" but have only 75,96 on the 58" TV. Made the calculations to find out what monitor size i need to mantaing the 91,79 PPI scale and found out a 48" monitor mantains that scales for 4k. But what to that means from my point of view? Absolutely nothing. I stand some 45cm from my monitor and some 2 meters away from the tv and percept nothing in aspect of sharpness. Just wanted to share the results somewere. lol

Microsoft Flight Simulator is supposed to roll out multi-monitor support. That would be great on multiple 1000R curved displays. I'd be happy with my multiple flat panels as is. Right now you can use multiple touch screens for your instruments, etc. And they don't have to be the same computer even the same OS. For touch screen controls Windows/Android/IOS are all supported.

Rtx 4090 will be able to push many games at 200fps and beyond at 4k. For now you can use dlss if fps is your goal and still look amazing.

They are night and day different. G7 is QHD and is HDR600 G8 is UHD and is HDR2000

Lol yeah I was co fused. Yeah that one is Infact close. You pay more for the 240 panel, the 165 is overclocked on the 7, it’s more stable at 144. This one natively ticks at 240 across the board so I think for the extra it’s worth it.

The new Neo G7 is better than the G8 as it has issues i was going to get this one until i watch a lot of reviews and the G7 is the same monitor with out the issue with refresh rate image quality and stuttering due to it not able to go down to the lower refresh rate to the g7 why it don't have the stuttering issues and according to hardware unboxing reviews

I think this monitor is going to be more optimal for anyone looking for the higher refresh rate, I don’t have the G7 so he would be a better source to see as he’s got them both. But his opinion is still his own, I wouldn’t yet the G7 as I didn’t, that was a choice and one I’m okay with. Max Luv

I came across a video on the channel “plasma TV for gaming” explaining a secret menu and the LG TVs that doesn’t void the warranty. And I’ve been testing what the hype is about for the last two days and it is legit. The setting changes the game for the LGC one and possibly other LG TVs. It really pops now. If you’ve heard of this what is your opinion on it if you haven’t will you look into it give me your feedback? Turn off HDR from the Console Side and enable HLG mode in secret menu. For me this has changed the whole experience on my c1

First mistake in my opinion was buying this monitor with console gaming in mind. Several other options, one being the M9, another being the BenQ Morbiuz, I have and made a video on that one also. This monitor is 240 hertz, that doesn’t even exist on a console, so the fact that you didn’t go to the G7 Neo at minimum respectfully shows you just made a bad decision. If you wanted photo presentation, any of the 42” WOLED would be the ticket to go after, because none of these monitors hold a candle to them.

You need an rtx 3090ti and still will not get close to 144fps at 4k max settings. For consoles even less worth it. It is safe to say this monitor has no place in 99.99% of the population

Consoles use a lot of temporal upscaling techniques, most games don’t run 5% of the time in a native resolution. Pc if using similar tricks like DLSS, this can be achieved, but it comes down to the title, you don’t look for games like GOW and the likes of to play at 240FPS, you look for games like overwatch to do so, and having the ability to dumb the resolution down helps with that competitive gamer desire, add to the fact this monitor actually does Ultrawide very well, it’s got a user for 99% of the population who is conscious about quality over quantity. This one of the ones to get.

Also while you're trying to convince yourself of why to get this monitor by saying to lower resolution then why get it in the first place. You are better off with 1440p with max details. It will be the same and a fraction of the cost. My point is if tou are using this.monitor as intended,4k gaming, something other than overwatch and CSGO, good luck going pass 144fps at 4k. There are way better options

Okay. But I can’t begin to think what monitor is better. I paid $2000 for the Asus that was 27” FALD that was 1000 nits with 4K 144Hz. This monitor smokes that. It’s all in your right to your opinion about what’s a waste but the monitor is priced right, it’s just not gone be in some people budget to look that way but it doesn’t make this an unrealistic priced product because it checks the box for all gamers and I do mean all gamers.

Suppose to be the immersion piece for the center, it does work. It’s only really an issue if you catch this thing at an angle then it blooms like hell. But in the center it’s damn near as black as an OLED.
